How come the feedback from hitting curbs etc. using the controllers is just fine, whereas using the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel, it is absent on 95% 0f the curbs ?

Come on PD... this meant to be the "Official Wheel" !!!

(and don't get me started on other FFB features completely missing - gear changes, wheel lock / loss of grip, ABS kick-in etc etc.

Not just weak... but in some aspects, non-existent...

I'm coming from iRacing, where you can change about 5 or 6 different elements of FFB. It's very frustrating.

You would think a wheel would be better than the controller, but I don't even know if my wheels are on the curbs with a wheel !!!! Daft thing is... some of the curbs work just fine ! So it IS do-able, but they haven't fininshed it ! Lazy.

Also. the wheel weight and Spring-centering is so strong, I can only play at level 2... and ALL cars feel the same - doh !

But lack of rumble when you hit a curb or are "riding the boards" is simply unforgiveable. A driving game that feels beter using a controller... that's a first for me.

Using a G25 I feel the curbs fine. with setting 5/7 I havnt settled which I like best but the centre spring isnt tough at all.

It's clearly hit and miss per wheel. On the T500RS there is excellent feel of the curbs, weight transfer, and race cars feel every little bump and dip beautifully. Centering spring is dependent on which FFB setting, right now I'm using 4 which makes low powered FF cars with power steering and comfort tyres feel realistically sloppy but gives race cars a lovely crisp sharp feel.

All in all, FFB feels awesome through the T500RS. So PD can do it, perhaps there are bugs in the various Logitech wheel settings?

I'm on a T500 with FFB strength set on 4, everything feels good to me. Centering spring is not strong at all, feels just right, I can feel the rumble strips also. Not sure why you are experiencing problems.

Anyone tried the fanatec CSR (non elite) yet? I hope my ffb will work well.
In the Fanatec thread on the hardware forum there are warning signs that you might get mostly centering force with everything else muted. But there's little being posted so it might mean only issues with the Porsche wheels, not the CSR....

I think they screwed up with the patches. I got the game few days before it was released prior to the patches. FFB on G27 was awesome, I was surprised that I could feel abs kick in. but now after 2 updates almost no ffb vibrations at all. I thought my g27 was broken till I tried another game.

I'm using a Fanatec CSR + CSR pedals + H-shifter and it is working fine (as well as it did in GT5) without needing to configure anything... I will report IMO the FFB is very good for a general profile.

Was big into forza 4 but now that M$ has decided to be M$ looks like I'll be using this wheel even for PS4 too (which i fully expect to be supported).

Thanks for the update! That's a big relief.
I have logged many many hours hot lapping and racing on forza throughout the years (most time on FM3), but I too am abandoning ship.
I really hope we get CSR support on the ps4, I really enjoy my CSR and club sport pedals.

IRL you won't feel much through the wheel when riding curbs. Only large bumps that are enough to move the steering would make it to the wheel.

M$ are gold diggers pure and simple. I cant believe they were going to make the Xbox One so that it has to be plugged into the internet 23 hrs of the day, and if it wasnt you couldnt play single player games offline. That and you would not of been able to play used games on it anymore.

They really tried to screw us over, but those guys actually do deserve everyones middle finger. Damn greedy bastards.

I bet you would in a not overly damped car. in my real life MR2 I feel painted lines on the road, let alone curbs! They'd feel like you just hit a cattle pan.

Also my DFGT definitely let's me know when I'm even nibbling the curves.

I'm using the DFGT and have no problem with it. I really like it.. and this is coming from a guy who races cars, haha.

My golf has very stiff suspension and I don't feel bumps through the wheel. They shake the whole car but certainly not just the wheel. The only connection between the steering and road wheels is through the track rod so suspension oscillations are not transmitted. With PAS the hydraulic fluid further dampens vibrations.

GT5's harsh rumble vibrations were not realistic steering feedback, but served to recreate the sensations you would feel through your backside when driving IRL.

One of my friend bought the game yesterday, he plays with a DFGT. He doesn't feel rumble strips, the wheel doesn't vibrate !

I can't remember if it is the same thing with my T500RS, I will try it later in the week...

Same with the t500.
Just noticed on the Ring yesterday that going over strips/curbs does nothing.
