DFGT Wheel: Change location of shifter

So my gf bought me the DFGT wheel for my bday and its awesome and now im thinking about building my own sim cockpit and I was wondering if its possible to change the location of the gear shifter so that its not connected to the wheel?

I want it on the right side of me so im sure wires are going to be extended and that's why I am posting this thread so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction on how to do it.

I'm actually waiting on him to give me a more in depth explanation on how to do it because I dont know too much about that stuff so I dont want to **** up my wheel.

But if anyone else can explain it maybe with some pics if possible that would be great.

Bibz! I ended up doing it,wasnt too bad but also didnt come out the best.
Its pretty straight forward. the shift unit can be unpluged from the main board. all you have to do is extend the wires. I used a usb male and female connection and basically wired the female end to the mainboard. and the long male end to the shifter. so it can plug in and out of the wheel will post pics in a bit.
