Do we have any experianced DFGT users in this thread? I could really use a tip with oversteer. See, I can initiat a drift, however maintaining is quite a different story, let alone the exit. I just need to know, after I initialize a drift is it better for me to hold the wheel in the nuetral position and let the car slide with minimal countersteer or is better to start it, countersteer hard and just power on? I tried a little of both however when I countersteer I just spin. All cars are equiped with comfort soft tires, and I've tried everything from my 170hp miata, my 230hp miata, and even my 400hp S15, I just can't seem to grasp it.

Have you tried the TVR speed 6 im told this is a pretty good drift car??

The TVR is a good drift car, as well as all three cars I've mentioned earlier. I am a capable drifter with the DPAD, but nothing precision like Dori and Chain drifting. However, the style in which I use the DPAD to initiate and maintain a drift do not transmit over to the DFGT too well for me. I don't own a wheelstand or pedal support, which only adds to the difficulty, however I don't think that is the reason alone. On comfort soft tires, and all comfort grades for that matter, I just cannot complete a drift at all with my DFGT. The second I have time and cash I will be fabricating a rig for the setup, but at the same time I have to make the rig easily transitioned to a MW2/BO space. Maybe a tilt wheel mount to drop it down and away. I digress. I still don't think that alone will solve my problem. I'm still new on brake input.. I can do clean laps on the ring if I accelerate/brake with the same foot, if I use my left foot for brake input it goes all wrong, and mid turn I just coast, and only get on the power when its straight.. it's the only way I can pull a clean lap. Plus I always end up getting lax on my left foot and end up riding a straightaway with 50% brake input. Maybe it's because I wear a size 18 US shoe, even barefoot or socks can't help me and my left foot woes.

Even still that I am not as compitent with the DFGT, I still prefer it tenfold over the DPAD.

Literally just bought One from Argos for £76 :D
nice thread too Gik69 :)

That's where I got mine!! Bargain there going for that sort of money on eBay and there used

I'm not a big drifter but i think it is best to initiate the drift then bring the wheel to neutral. After that you should be able to make fine adjustments to the steering angle to keep the drift.

Hey 69 do you fancy signing up for some TOCA racing on saturday night looks like psn will be back online sounds like a bit of fun first time online racing for me?? Give you a chance to try out that new wheel!!!

Don't the noise of the turning annoy you lot?

actually no. In rally races the vibration sounds are annoying yes. but in most races, it don't hear any noice. i even like the bzzzzzzzzz sound when you lose your car, and quickly recover whit the wheel.

I used it for 3 years, i do not know if i am faster, but i did enjoy driving it. The other day i tried a gamepad again. i did't like it, the cars are undriveble, i problaly will never use a gamepad ever again for racing games.

pro:
-The experience
- The Wheel
- Easy to use
- Nice Design
- Prize
- good FFB

cons:
- The pedals (i can't compare to other wheels but they feel really cheap)
- The pedals don't have enough grip on floor
- Vibrations (the whole thing moves like hell)

After 3 years i go now from a DFGT to T500RS

i noticed my FFB is losing strenght....

I just picked one up yesterday and I am still getting used to it. I tried drifting but can't control the car for the life of me so for now I'm just going in an playing the seasonal's. I also ran the X1 on Indy in Dream Car Championship and I don't know why so many people complain about the FF being too strong. It isn't anything if you have a firm grip on the wheel.

Drifting will require an entirely different setup compared to the DS3. With the DS3, you have the ability to turn the wheel lock-to-lock with the flick of your thumb. With a wheel, you need to tune the car so you can steer with the throttle instead of the wheel. Otherwise it will be quite tiresome.

I was having huge issues with my DFGT. Thanks for all of the tips on this thread 👍

I finally broke down and bought a playseat after going the TV tray route and the build it myself route. Also set wheel to "simulation" and FF3 and power assist "off."

Now I can actually drive!
