So, my Driving Force Pro is currently in active service with GT4, and I'm loving every second - excellent wheel.

But I found out GT5 will be compatible with three-pedal foot controls and an H-gate shifter...

Is there something I can do to get my DFP running with three pedals, and an h-gate shifter? Like, third party peripherals that plug in seperately? I know you're thinking that I should just buy a G25, but frankly I'd rather die than use another controller... my DFP is my baby, and will stay with me 'till the bitter end.

Thanks

Time to let it go, the DFP that was your baby has grown up to be a Teenager in peripheral years and it needs to move out and get a job.

Have a look at the G25 and the Fanatec Porsche wheels and prepare yourself for an even better driving experience. I'm still using my DFP until my Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel arrives, but once it does I'm sending the DFP out to graze.

If you're looking for a wheel just to use on PS3/PC then this one may be worth a look: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112348

If you own an XBox as well (and lets face it you're missing out if you haven't got one) then this wheel is a must have: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112085

Aside from the whole dedicated-to-my-DFP thing, saving for a 200 quid wheel after a 200 quid PS3 - and possibly 40-50 quid game - it would just be too much. Well, the G25 is around 200 anyway, and that would be the only other wheel I'd want really...

There surely must be something I could do for the DFP... I was thinking of a pedal and shifter set that plugged in totally seperately :indiff:

G25 is a last resort - if you tell me there's absolutely nothing I can do, then I suppose that's the way.

I can't say that there's absolutely nothing you can do but if you look at the 911 Carrera Wheel in my first link you'll see that it's predicted to be priced around the 150-200 Euro mark, so that's roughly £100-£120.

From what I've seen and heard about Fanatec's current 911 Turbo wheel, there's been no negative feedback about it and I've seen reviews that rate it higher than the G25, I would expect that they would turn out a product of simillar quality with the Carrera model and from the looks of it at a much cheaper price than the G25 so don't lose hope...........there are alternatives..........Christmas is coming ;)

Christmas? Har har har...

Just did some research... the G25 is actually more like £150, which I didn't expect at all. The Porsche doesn't really "do it" for me anyway, especially as Porsch probably won't be in GT5

So what's the G25 like? Feel? FF strength? Quality? If you've tried one, that is.

Cheers mate

I don't own a G25, like you I've had a long standing love for my DFP so I'm cutting out the middle man and eagerly awaiting delivery of my Fanatec Porsche Turbo S Wheel which will (Hopefully) give me G25 levels of performance or maybe better but On my XBox 360 as well as my PS3, rather than limiting the experience to one console.

But from what I hear all reports about Feel FF strength & Quality are mainly good, tyhe only weak link being the Gear shifter, feeling loose and floppy and being unreliable.

With RACE Pro on the horizon, I'm genuinely excited about the prospect of having the simillar driving experience of Ferrari Challenge and GT5P with the racing simulation levles that will knock every other racing game on any console into a cocked hat.

With Codies F1 game in the pipeline too it'll be extremely interesting to compare the XB360 and PS3 versions direcly by using the same peripherals.

Porsch sounds good... good luck with it :)

I only need a wheel for PS2, 3, and PC (I don't have anything Xbox, except for an original console which I'm selling soon hopefully), so the G25 will do nicely for me.

I think it's nicer than the DFP anyway, what with the leather and metal, and the real paddles, and the minimalist two red buttons on the metal wheel spokes... *drools*

Thanks man, great help

The g25 is a very good wheel. Just look around this forum a bit, and you will find everything there is about the g25. I have owned the g25 for awhile now and have no complaints. I though am also going to make the switch to the porsche wheel because of 360 compatibility.

Thanks man - I have actually heard complaints about the quality of the shifter unit... but I think there are tutorials on RaceSimCentral on modifying it so I may look into that.

Thanks 👍
