Bob,
Am totally done in. I don't think I'll get to any more runs of #1 till the AM at the earliest, and the wife is currently dis-assembling the bed!!!:irked:
But, I truly stink on ice at Deep Forest (in either direction). I only stink at R246. And with the other cars making a stop also, I may be able to do better.:D

Well now. That was interesting. When did those JGTC cars get so fast!  On the main strait they make up tons of time!!!
I won my first race by a bit over three seconds. Now that I know when they pit(I haven't run this series in over a year) I can make adjustments. Should be able to win by 10 seconds over the AI.

yeah, you really gotta watch out for those supras and nsx's, they have TONS of top end. This race is definently won in the pits

Gah! That means I'll be pressured to get a 3rd place finish in the actual race. Well, that gives me a good target time.

Diablo Series Announcement:
:D One of our Racer's has found a "Flaw" in the Rules & brought it to my attention.
Starting with this Race the MANDATORY Pit Stop May Not be taken on the last lap!
I REALLY wanted us to drive on BLUE tires at least twice during each race, so this small change should "Remedy" the problem. Thanx Guy's & don't let "Godzilla" get you!!!...UB57
:D

BTW: Will check as soon as possible, but I believe the JGTC cars are running 100+HP more than we are!!!

On the main strait, those cars come up soooo fast. What are the rules for getting hit in the back. They don't seem to move around or change their driving line and its hard enough going forward without having to watch the mirror. The other thing was at turn 1, I like to brake early and power thru the corner and the AI likes to brake later. I've almost been rear ended there more than once. Do we have to move over and give up our racing line to avoid contact?

Nah, just drive faster!!!

UB57, your statement of wanting to drive twice on blue tires told me that pitting at the end of lap 10 was a no-no.

Where's the results, where are the results?? I can't do no more work til I see dem results!!  ;)

Hi GT3mich:
:D No problem, you run YOUR race. If they "push" you on the straight, take advantage of it, if they're in YOUR line, "Smack 'em" a little, you know they're only TOO willing to run into you!!!...UB57
:D

I think what UB was refering to was pitting on lap 10. So you'd technically pit, but in reality, it'd only be half a pit, due to crossing the finish line whilst in the pit stop area.

Hehe, I'll likely not have to worry about AI rear-ending me. ;)

Crap, so my run from last night, where I got booted out onto the grass by the AI would have been legal?

That was why I asked specificaly about what lap to pit on. When his answer was/

I came in on lap 10. This will be the only time this will be allowed BTW. "Now Slowpoke is going to really show that guy from the East side of Michigan how to drive!! Don't crush me too bad in round 2 Rick!!:D

I'm going to help out some of you guys that don't have a whole lot of time to race. This one will take you around 25 minutes to run. Don't bother with T2 tires. Slap on T3's. You figure out where to pit;) I was in first place half way thru the first lap. After my stop I was all the way back down to 6th. This is pretty fun except for the long strait. They have so much power it's almost not fair. Thankfully they don't drive corners too well.  They also seem to stay out on bad tires so watch out for that car that is sideways on the track!

I'll end up T-boning the crossed up car. Unless he crosses it up in front of the pits on the lap I decide to pit in.

I have made my first attempt at this.
a couple of things:
GT3mich is not kidding when he says one of the cars will get sideways right in your path!
If you're slow like me, it shouldn't be a problem, but it is a hoot to watch, cause it does it almost every lap.
Secondly, Those JGTC cars have bucketloads of acceleration. AND the front straight is NOT the place to attempt to outdrive the AI. The AI does ick some strange lines that will directly overrun where you want to go.
I ran the race in 1457.164 seconds. Came in 6.795 sec. behind the Raybrig NSX.
I chose to pit on lap 8 hoping that I could catch up with the remaining 7 laps.
I may back up to lap 5 or 6 on the next attempt.
Averaged out my laps (including the pitstop).
Avg lap was 1.37.144.
My best was 1'33.5xx
I figure that IF I can knock just half a second a lap off I can put the whoopin' to these JGTC cars.

[edit]
I used GT3mich's settings from track 1, with ride height lowered to 70/70,
Left the transmission stock and changed the auto slider to 30. I hit top end at the end of the front straight. (about 170 mph).
I may knock it down two clicks. I'll sacrifice about 5 mph of top end. But, this race is not gonna be won on the front straight. It'll be won in the pits and the twisty bits.
[/edit]

Allright Gil: 👍
:D You're right in the "Ball ParK"!!! I did a late nite test session trying to finalize the tire choice before posting last nite & I think my fast lap was a high 1'32 or low 1'33 & I won by about 7 seconds. ( Pre "Pokie" settings I had several "Photo-finishes" in testing, (including the 00.063' Victory), on T4s so the right settings really do help...UB57

Sounds good, but I know those supras are way faster in this race than they really should be... maybe they are fully powered or something?

good luck guys. Im gonna need some pit advice if anyone wants to suggest stuff like pit and tire

Until I run and see if I can win... bye.

:D Well as GT3mich has pointed out, T3s are the way to go. I tested last nite w/a T3-T4 combo & won too easily. Went one harder on both ends (Don't know "why") & found a better race. (I do run "Mismatched" tires a lot.) Probably should have made the Race #1 "Podium Guys" run on T2s & the rest of us on T3s but didn't have time to fully research it.

Pit Stategy??? Before Race #1 I'd never been more creative than 5/5 in a 10 lapper. 15 Lappers were nearly always 7/8 or 8/7 for me, but now??? I wouldn't be surprised to see 1/14 or 14/1 combos, but THERE WILL BE NO 15th Lap Pit Stops this week, right???...UB57
:D

No 15th lap pit stops for me UB.

I must admit that this is a great race. I'd like to commend UB57 on all the time and dedication he has taken into making this series fun. He certainly has done his research and has done it well.

Thanks UB! 👍

So T3 tires are what I'm running on and I'm still playing around on what lap I'm pitting on but so far it's been on lap 12.
The AI can be a real bastard in this one but that makes it even more exciting.

:O :O :O Aw Shucks Boom, Thanx :O :O :O

@ GoKents: And so it begins...First 8/7 or 7/8 & now 12/3...I Love it !!! 👍

I've been running 8-7 but my lap 7 and 15 need to be cleaned up a bit more so I'm going to try a 7-8 combo. Fastest lap in the race so far is 1:31.8xx with most in the low 1:32's. don't forget to lengthen your trans numbers. I too am hiting 170 at the end of the straight. Some really great passing in this race!! Inside, outside, Cool!

Is anyone taking the lead during the first lap and holding it?

I can barely get the lead in that first lap, none the less hold it on these amazing straight line monsters.

I will be back with work on my times, but for now, Im gonna do what I didn't do last week and do some free runs just to get the setup right.

btw, I topped out at about 171 on the straight.

Well, I'm taking the lead by the end of the first lap, but I lose it, regain it and lose it again. So I can't really remember.

Really need to keep an eye on milage and oil. I get rather disapointed in myself when I think that I'm making killer laps but not seeing fast times. Then come to find out that I've lost HP due to milage or my oil light comes on during lap 6.

Grrrrr!

It takes a lot of concentration for all 15 laps but the last two complete races I've run I took the lead on lap 1 after the sweeping right hander, then out braking the AI turning into the quick left turn. I'm putting a serious stomping on the Denso. I've beat him by 32 seconds twice, today. The first two corners are so important. I'm trying to get T1's in the 13.3 /13.4 range.

The Denso Sard is hitting 189 at the end of the straight.
The AI DF is set at F/0.66 R/0.81

Hi Guys:
:D Here's a little something for us all to "Ponder." The main reason the AI cars are So Fast is that according to MK's readout of a replay & my feeble math skills they're ALL Pumping out in the area of 775 HP!!!   Guess it's REALLY a good thing they don't drive well thru the "twistys" eh???...UB57
:D

Well, I just completed this race for the first time.

Not bad... took first by a good little gap. 20+ seconds atleast.

The t3's seem to be giving me some delay on turn-in after about 5 laps, so Im gonna try the t2's... never know, just might work well for me.

Anyway, Im working at picking a goal and when I find that goal, I will let you guys know how close I get to it.

Well talk to you all later. bye.

I took my first crack at this last night. It was a miserably long day, but that happens when you roll out of bed at 4am. On top of that I'm battling the first stages of a cold, and the office pulled my into the home base to bat clean up on a Project. So I'm churning through the weekend, and flat out to next Wednesday. Where upon, I'll cut out early and race from when I get home to the final bell.

teh update on last night. I only managed to chip my way through to 5th place and I was on lap 5 I think. i know that I'm faster than that, so I'll make no excuses.

This one's gonna be interesting.

Congrats UB, I haven't faced this much competition from the AI in a while.
