NO Pit Sops on Lap #10 Allowed !

Results due at 12:00 Midnight CST / 10 December 03

"ROMULUS" & "REMUS" to be reported SEPARATELY & YES, this Week will actually count as TWO Races.

Okay guys, these are the races that started it all!!! The "Bonus Race" I've been alluding to. I've always been jealous of those with the Japanese Version of GT3 who could race something in the "Avant Garde" other than a

Zonda. "HEYDU" from the "Hybrids & Gamesharks" Forum graciously answered my plea for help & has provided us with a Diablo modified so we can take on the Mighty Zonda Racers on their "Home Turf."
A "Special .ini" file will be "PM"ed to you shortly. Please note that you WILL NOT be able to load your settings from your "Normal" Diablo through "Load Settings" as the game will not recognize your Special Car as a Diablo. You'll have to enter them Manually. PLEASE PM or E-mail me if you have ANY Problems.

This will be a good combo, I love Italian food, and the tracks ain't too shabby either 👍

"NO Walls" won't be likely with the "AI" helping you the way they do but I must say they drive better here than the vast majority of other races. Just don't be afraid to "Swap a Little Paint" with 'em!!!👍...UB57

First off, name a track that ISN'T one of Pokealong's fastest!!!

Your "Special" ride is exactly like your reduced HP Diablo, but "Heydu" fooled the "Game" into "thinking" it's a C-12S so we could enter these races. Kool eh???...UB57

👍 YEP, "Color Coded" my "Test Cars" so I wouldn't use the "Rome Specials" to test on the other tracks!!!

BTW: Forgot to mention that the Zonda Racers have 684 HP for this round!!! (Guess that's better than the JGTC w/775HP though!!)...UB57

Time to get a little "Chat" goin' for this week.

My "Fast Lap" in testing for "ROMULUS" 1'20.175.

My "Fast Lap" in testing for "REMUS" 1'19.416.
I'm VERY interested in everyone's "Pit Strategy" on this one as it took me three different combos before I could best the dreaded Zondas. Even then my "MOV" was only 0.362'!!! ...UB57

I'm trying to wear down the HP(GT-40 RC) for a Fall Touring car series and I'm doing it in the All Japan series so I won't have times until later.

Well I've won both of my races but it's a much closer MOV than the previous three races. Yesterday in free run I wasn't able to run any faster than UB57's posted time Today those times are dust. Some days I'm just faster than others. These Zonda's on the first lap are like a rolling brick wall Still having fun!👍

No chance to do any racin' last night, the Granddaughter was over to keep Papa busy enough! Mebbe I'll have some time after work today.

I was able to run 2 races Thursday evening. Won both times, and my total times were within a second of each other, but lotsa time can be taken off in that opening lap! I just need to figure out which AI combo is best

... and don't forget to give yourself a lil Drafting Gear!

UBee, I think I'll be pitting at the end of the 5th lap on this one . BTW, my car has around 240 miles on the odometer right from the start, anyone else?? Would it be A.O.K. to use the codes posted in one of our earlier threads to return the mileage (and oil) to "new"?

I think that oil bit is ok, not sure, but it should be cool... I also ended up with bad oil... ran races for a while only to find that my oil was jet black and the power was at 513. (with an un-saved oil change it went back to 539)

As for myself, test, quizes, papers, finals, work.

Only got to run the other night for a few (which really sucked) then the next day. Concentrated that time on Rome II since I did rome I once and beat it without trouble.

Setups for the car are different on the two tracks... might try the rome II at rome I, but for now, the two are setup different just because I was having so much trouble with rome II.

Btw, I should mention that rome II really is my worst road course in the game, but Im working at it.

I will have time to race later today when I get back from school, so until then... later.

GT3mich & i were gettin' kinda Lonely!!!
With the Eastern Seaboard "Snowed In" a couple of us may have nothing else to do for a few days but run in Sunny Rome!

YES!!! Keep your HP "Refreshed" (As much as I'd like you "Fast Guys" to Slow down a Bit )

"My Take" on these two: The AI drives a Little more aggresively on "ROMULUS" but of course Pits once. I feel they "Lay Back" a little on "REMUS" but make up for it by not pitting. JMO...UB57

Are we taking this races wall rules really strictly?

I mean, is contact of any kind (with the wall) strictly forbidden, or are we doing this one just like the others...

No banging around the course using it to your advantage, but the slip on drivers skills ... is that acceptable?

Just like the rest, I'm confident you guy's won't abuse the rules.👍
Wall and/or "AI" contact is pretty much "Un-avoidable" on this one, just be sure to have a "Back up" save if you're not sure. I know I'll be busy reviewing replays this week! ...UB57

I'm taking the opposite approach of GoKents, taking on my better track first, Rome forward. I'll try this race a few more times tomorrow, but then I'll hafta move on to the backwards way around. I've hit quite a few 17's in Free Run, and a few in the Race as well, even been in first place to finish the first lap! Here are my settings:

Sweet! slowpoke. Now I won't get confused when I type in your nic. 1:17's I knew you would be fast but man I will have to try harder. I was also in first by the end of lap 1 in both races. The AI brake in places that will let you take advantage of them.

Yeah... Im still a bit off of 17, but Im pullin 18's on rome2, so maybe with work I can get low 18.

If I can get in the time to run both courses with all laps under 1.20. I will be fine. Right now I have exams for the next week... only 3 are stressin me out, but those three pull rank on the diablo. So if I can manage a descent run, I will be happy.

Good job though... I must admit, I am throughly jealous of the fact that you got a name change.

Upon my request to "Kent" I was harshly repermanded on the rules and a black and white policy of name changes.

Well, finally managed to get some PS2 time to dedicate to this race. 5 races done on Romulus, and 1 done on Remus. I've managed a 13 second win in Romulus, that garnered me a 1'19.2 fast lap. Remus was a bit tougher. I had managed to get within sight of the pack by the time I hit the finish line. 6.211 seconds of the 1st place finish.

With to honey do list ever increasing, I'm going to get one more attempt late Wednesday night to post up a win at Remus.

It's been a fun run at this one though.

"slowpoke", will you tune ALL my rides??? You guys have no idea how many times I pre-ran these races, along w/my "Beta Testers" to try & make them close.
After taking the weekend off from GT3, I plug in "slowpoke's" setup from Post #17, "tweak" a coupla things & promptly take nearly 9 Seconds off my former record time on only the second attempt!!! I'm now actually able to "Steer" the car through a couple of turns w/the throttle in lieu of the "Point & Squirt" method used before. Thanx again "slowpoke"!👍 ...UB57

I wanted to post my Rome I hotlap replay last night, but the Forums were down again. Now I'm at work, and won't be home til waylate in da evening.

My first 2 races at Rome II last night were just blowing away my previous fast laps from practice, a full second quicker per lap! Musta been the changes I made to my settings before the races! But why, why won't the tires only last 6 good laps?? I could get 9 before. [Homer Simpson voice]D'oh!!![/voice], T-5's!

No chance for any racing tonight or tomorrow, looks like my races are done. Unless............. I take tomorrow off work

You know, I have a faint idea pinging around in teh back of my head. UB and I faced off a number of times in a set of long races. In a stock Calsonic Skyline and the Diablo against a slew of JGTC cars.

Wonder if that's what's coming in for race #5.

Yep, Race #5 is ready to go. I tested the "Final" ( for now) set-up twice yesterday & WAS NOT able to "WIN" although I did get a better total time than on the Race I DID win ?!?!

Have a "probable" for Race #6 but am a little worried about having it due on Christmas Eve. Any ideas???...UB57
