Anyone have this card? I can't install it! After installing the driver it will ask me to reboot my system. I reboot and windows loads for like 5 seconds and then reboots itself! I can only go into windows in Safe mode. Maybe my system is too old?

Here's my PC:
WinXP Pro. SP2
P4 socket 423 1.7ghz
512MB Ram
Motherboard supports only agp 4x

My previous card was a Nvidia FX 5200.

Look for a new driver.

The first thing I did was installt he latest drivers from ATI. That didnt work so i installed the drivers that came on the CD. That didnt work either!

maybe your mobo is, like, all nvidia'd out. Might not be compatible with ATi or something.

Good Luck.

Could it be windows? Maybe I need a fresh install of XP? The video card boots fine without a driver.

hmm, try omega drivers...
make sure you try it with fastwrites off... check your bios too..

Did you uninstall the Nvidia drivers before you installed the ATI card?

Anyone remember when Diamond made good video cards? Geez, I'm too old.

My folk's PC did this from brand new and my PC did it when i upgraded from Win 98 to Win XP a while back. Basically i solved it by D/Ling the latest motherboard drivers. Don't know what you've got (?), then find an Auditting website which will scan your PC and inform you of all your component's model numbers.

The 9600XT works on any AGP 4X motherboard, there is nothing in any motherboards which allows it to work with one brand.

Take Nvidia's Motherboards you can still use an ATi Graphics Card on it even if there rivals. This is just a example.

Get a program called "Driver Cleaner" to remove all traces of the old drivers and the drivers you just installed. Then, install the new drivers.

I reccommend using the Omega Drivers.

I used Driver Cleaner 3 but it still doesnt work. Yeah I think I'll try Omega Drivers. If that doesnt work then i'm going to sell it on ebay.

uninstall ALL of your old drivers, upgrade to the latest drivers for everything.

Update your bios as well.
