Late 70s Ford LTD II. Some LTDs came with a hood ornament that looked very Cadillac-esque, because it also used a wreath.

Probably the reason then, as that's pretty much all I saw. Even in the Rogue, we out accelerated it by a long shot .

I think they've started. Production on Wiki says 2014-present (which could mean anything, really. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Transit_Connect) and it's on Ford's website. It's started out of North America for sure. http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/transitconnect-commercial/
