Hey guy, i just get some feedback.

I have a DFP and I am way faster with it than with a dual shock (avg. 2-3 seconds faster per lap)... but in GT3 it was the opposite. Fast w/ DS and slow w/ DFP.

Did PD make is easier to drive with the DFP? Or is it just me?

Also, in GT4 w/ Dual Shock, it seems to understeer like crazy!

PS. I have the "Steering Assist" Off, "Simulation" steering, Power Steering off and Stong forcefeedback)

Well I was using the driving force pro for the first 2 weeks or so of playing GT4 but now my arms hurt from using it soooooooooooooooooooooo much, so im using a dual shock just now, and I personally find it waY easier with the Dual Shock 2 controller. Obviously, rallying is much easier, but i find you can get quicker reactions by just using the 2 analogues sticks than you can by using the Driving Force pro. In the Nurburgring with the Sauber C9, i can lap 4-5 seconds faster with the dual shock controller than with the Driving Force pro, which i feel is because i can fling/dive the car into corners more with the analogue sticks, more than o can when quickly moving from left to right to left to right with the DFP.

My thoughts would be that you started out using the DS2 for GT3, so you had way more gameplay time and thus were faster using DS2. The opposite is true for GT4, and that's why you are faster with the DFP now.

Well, i've got a £20 180 degrees force feedback wheel and I can knock at least 3 seconds off my DS2 times on every track, so on 9th March i'll tell you how hard it is with a cheapo wheel. 👍

well of course they made it easier w/ the DFP. If you had to drive cars IRL with a controller would'nt it be pretty hard?

LOL...that reminds me of that 007 movie where Bond had that PSP-like device to drive his car. He didn't seem to have such a hard time using it.

The car and movie name escapes me right now...but it was w/ Pierce Brosnan

I believe that was Tomorrow Never Dies.

Hopefully soon I will be getting the DFP wheel.
Going to be interesting to see how I do after racing with the Dualshock for such a long time. :)

Edit: Darn lmracer beat me to it. Looks like I'm not the only 007 fan here. :dopey:

Actually, wasn't it more like a DS than a PSP? Had the little touch-screen on the bottom that he steered from, and the top screen was a camera inside the car or something. :)

As for the DFP.. I think it boils down to the way PD made the game. GT3 was programmed to use the DS2 as the "preferred" controller, with the option to use the wheel. GT4's the other way 'round.. the "preferred" controller is the DFP, with the option to use the DS2.

I've only used the DS2 once so far.. I was fiddling around with Photo Mode (which I use the DS2 for.. the digital buttons on the DFP just don't cut it), and I used the DS2 to do a quick lap of Grand Valley for Photo Drive. And I sucked at it.. hehe. The car drove nothing like a GT3 car. Luckily, the picture I wanted was on a straightaway, but I was still doing ye olde "tap-tap" steering adjustments on the straightaways that simply aren't required with the wheel.

Actually it reminds me of MIB2 where a DS2 came out of the dash of the car instead of the wheel. And actually, it was a cellphone that split in the middle and opened up to reveal, yes, a DS like interface. That is one of my most favorite Bond flicks ever because of that, and whenever someone makes something like that into a reality where I can whip out my cellphone and drive my car around like an RC car... I will be the first one in line to own that technology! take that junk out to a lot and drift it around...lol!
