Thought I'd start a thread for peeps to post interesting things they've come across while playing GT5.

I'll start with: Did you know if you press L1 while driving a premium car in cockpit view you can see your back seat and out the back window?

Yeah, it's the look-back function, available since GT1

I can't... but then like 95% of players I've remapped the controls :D

One thing I found out a couple of months ago; when scrolling through entries on the car menu you can press Left or Right on the D-Pad to jump one 'screenful'.

Very useful when trying to get to Volkswagen... 👍

I am collecting all the Mazda Furai, I can get my hands on(5 so far) and they all have one similar characteristic...They all have red in their left wheel locks and blue in their right ones...I would've thought green for the right side a la aircraft lights but there you go!

You're pretty far off topic yourself, most moderators would send a pm for something like this 💡

Maybe most, but not all.
If you feel that I'm not carrying out my moderator duties correctly, feel free to contact the owner of GTPlanet to express your concerns.

Back on topic please.

Did you know that if you press X the car moves forward! omg

Is this guna get locked?
IMO it's a bit of a silly thread...

Not a stupid or useless thread. Perfectly fine. So are the moderator's actions.

Did you know the BMW 135i is able to have aero mods but the 135tii concept cannot, even though it is also premium?

Might be handy for the bimmer fans trying to decide which to purchase... (Though I still like the 135tii better myself... :) )

Did you know that if you buy the Audi R8 5.2 in blue-ish (blauperffekt or something like that), you don't get a paint chip?

Did you know you can move that text input box around with L3 whilst in online lobby?
No, didn't think so

you can Map your D-Pad to look left, right & back...lol. i can see my passenger seat and out my driver window. while driving

I think this thread is quite intresting.

Did you know PletdeKoe & alx-ndr know every single last detail and feature of the game?

anyway, my contribution: Did you know, if you are going along and press the break and accelerator together it makes the breaks light up red HOT! ?

Did you know . . .

That at Monza driving with Penalty level set to heavy, it is almost impossible to get a shortcut penalty.

You have to drive a ridiculous amount off onto the grass to be able to trigger it. So much so that you're likely to crash in the act of trying to find a shortcut penalty.

good to know...

Did you know that the Peugeot 908 has normal headlights brighter than high headlights?
(And I think that most of the beams function in the wrong way, it's like when you turn on high beams, the normal one turns automatically off)

If you map it to the right stick then you can pan the view too (up to 90' left/right).

The L3-dialogue-box thing was something I didn't know! Not sure how useful it is but I'll try it anyway :D

I know what you mean - some cars seem to have 'backwards' lighting.

But... in real-life road cars when you switch to high-beam the dipped-beam would normally switch off (unless you just 'flash' the lights).

Did you know that doing this could brake your breaks? ;)

Nope you cant map the RS, it doesnt allow it

You can.

Go to the Options menu, you can change your button settings in there - you don't have to keep the default map.

Did you know that the Audi A4 Touring car, is more than meets the eye? with all this money from seasonals, I always now Engine & Chassis rebuild all cars ==> (almost no rev limiter, I was waiting for it....waiting for it.... ?!!? waiting for it lol'd into late breaking) beautiful sound, grunts like a tasmanian devil, obeys steering input.)

I remember this from GT4 and haven't really tested it in GT5, though anyone can easily do so. The BMW 1-series had two 'levels' of braking lights. If you just stepped lightly on the brakes you'd get 2 brake lights, but if you pressed heavily on them, 4 lights would come on. Of course, this is only noticeable in chase-cam or during replays.

It's so efficient and I was overjoyed when I figured it out. But if I didn't know any better, this was implemented through an update because I remember not being able to do it at first. Then again, it's not available for every button, so I mighta missed it.

The typo confused me. RA function, not RS. I was really confused for a quick while. :(

Fair enough :D

I'm pretty sure that I had it that way in GT5P and that I immediately set GT5 up that way (1.01?).

mine really wont let me do this.... i have tried

Try setting each part of the RS to 'None'. See if you can do it then?

Something in the back of my mind is telling me that if you map some functions to parts of the sticks it can stop other functions being mapped to the other parts (if that makes sense).

That car's a monster and by far the best of the touring cars, imho.
