Just came back from an Autobarn Maitland 20th Anniversary. Thomas Randle is supposed to show up, but we left.

Last Sunday was American Car Day at Brooklands, and they tied it in with celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Mustang.

Sorry for the double post, but it's a completely different event, the Kop Hill Climb last weekend. Again, there was a celebration of 60 years of Mustang:

Along with a multitude of classic vehicles:

And some more modern cars too:

Even the Schwimmwagen from Gran Turismo 5!

So this was interesting:

It's not a Holden though since it's LHD, so I'm guessing it's a Pontiac G8 under there. However, they did it though the work had to have been involved.

Currently in Japan and I visited Bingo Sports, which seems like a showroom for exotic cars in auction?

Also I apologize for any weird photo angle. I'm a fairly clumsy person and the cars were parked quite close. Didn't want to risk damaging the cars just because I want to take a better shot.

A small, informal and impromptu Kei car/Kei truck car meet at AMC Theatre in Burlington MA. A special guest, youtuber WayBeforeTheFame, was attending as well.

A Hijet, three Actys, a Wagon R belonging to our special guest, my Midget II, a pair of NA MX5s, a Familia GT-R and a Honda Accord SIR.

Been trying to attend more car meets of late, as it's not something I've really done much of.

Really cool seeing the variety of vehicles on display. I particularly enjoy the 'cruise' type meets. Something about seeing the cars in motion and hearing them, even at idle, is just very enjoyable.

Anyway, here are a pair of cars I'd never seen in the metal before. Always loved the Mini Marcos and the Jensen is a very pretty car in my view.

I was at a British car show yesterday (lots of MGs, and a scattering of others). Stood there looking at a 1970 E-type and the owner offered me and my son to sit in it. Sadly I could never own one. The yoga moves I had to pull to get in under the steering wheel were not things I could do daily. And once in, having the dexterity to work the clutch was out of the question.

Euro Motorfest in my neighbourhood. Had a quick sticky break as I couldn't stay. No snaps of the awesome vintage stuff. Like WWII era off-road vehicles I've never seen before.
This was as it just started letting cars in the grounds. Arriving in droves while I was driving back home.

Posting photos from Goodwood in this thread always feels like cheating, particularly when a car is presented like an ice lolly, but here are a few of the road cars from (mostly) the parking areas on Thursday. I don't know who Joy is but as they had an F1, P1 and T50 there they must be doing ok. Talking to the partner of the teal T50 owner whilst he loaded it into a trailer (natch) she described the upkeep of a T50 as "as big a commitment as having a child", and considering she was cradling her 6 month old son at the time I could believe her...

Not pictured are hundreds of other supercars, the half dozen or so that Schmee brought down, the 8 Veyrons, nor any of the manufacturer stands. Largely because a) I was only there for one day and had to prioritise wht I saw and b) in that particular Goodwood way there's so much to see that new supercars quickly lose their novelty, and to be honest I haven't much interest in them to begin with.

"Joy" might be Jay Kay from Jamiroquai as he drove his T50 at Kop Hill Climb last year?
Hope you had a great day there. Missed this year as had other plans. Also, if you go too often, you start to see some cars "repeating".

Thanks for the suggestion - the registrations were F1 JOY, P1 JOY and JOY 3 on the T50 and I was (very) mildly curious.

Yep, I've been to over a dozen FoS and whilst they are great events, I haven't been since 20... 19? for that very reason. One day was enough for me to see what I wanted to see as there were plenty of cars or similar vehicles I'd seen there before.

Just back from a holiday in Brittany. I had only just heard of a car museum in the area earlier in the year and decided to make a trip to it. It's the Manoir de l'Automobile in Loheac. They have a massive collection of over 400 cars from all eras and countries, but with plenty of rarities that I've never seen before. Hommell Berlinette, anyone?

They also have a load of very detailed dioramas, models and old trades/shops.

Great find 👍

I went to a museum of a private collection called Vindö Bilgalleri, located pretty much as far you can go in the Stockholm archipelago without having to go by boat.
IMG_9629.jpeg

Pretty neat spot with cool buildings and surroundings. The museum is centered around ”newer” cars, with no car older than 1960s going up to the 2020s. Pretty much bulls eye as far as where my interests are.
A really impressive collection I have to say, but maybe without some ”unicorns” you would like to see in a museum.

There were some highlights though, like this 75 km 2019 McLaren Senna XP:

How on EARTH can yo show so much restrain to only drive this car 75 km since 2019? Well, I guess I know the answer but still…

They seem to be a bit obsessed with the colour red  Reminds me of the "red room" in the Haynes museum in the UK.
