Ahaha, I've beaten all of you. My teachers have a bunch of new BMW X3s and X5s, and at least 4 Audi A4s and A6's.

Students cars (in my view). Tenured professors here make $250,000 a year, and administration can make up to $500,000.

but this one was different... I rarely ever see them in white, much less with the yellow-brake kit.

Don't most of them have yellow calipers?

I thought red was standard, yellow was a special $400 (or something) option... Oh, and I believe they were carbon brakes as well. Those things cost nearly as much, if not more, than the new car I thought about buying the other day...

Now I know that's nothing special, but one of my teachers is Alan Haskvitz. He works for a publication of his family's called 'The Car Family', and I've seen him driving a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Bentley Arnage, and he's going to get a Honda FCX in a few months.
Two Cayenne's (base and an S) and a Range Rover sport do the school run to my old comprehensive :odd:

What was terrible abundant at my old comprehensive were Nissan 200SX. There was like a small cult of teachers who bought them.

So today we were travelling through Moorabin when i saw a garage. It wasnt just any old garage. I saw a Gallardo, about 6 Porsche's, Continental GT (I think), A few Benz, an old M3 and a briight yellow Maserati. No pics of the garage but next time i go through there ill snap some pics. Although ive never seen this place open, the garage had no sign or anything, just a bare black matt paint over the whole building. But about 2km away the Maserati appeared from no where and:

And i missed a shot of the Maserati but i snapped something in the background which i found was a bit odd...

A matt painted orange Excel...

(It actually did look quite good though :))

And you guys in Melbourne complain about getting no rain, look at it all :)

Today was like the only day it rained for a few days. Hopefully no rain tommorow :) (Only cause i got first soccer game tommorow :D)

 Eighth graders don't drive. Maybe in high school... I've seen some nice rides over there.

people often put lotus badges on the caterham because that is the lineage of the car... however the real deal is pretty rare and iirc less flashy than the one in your post

Gumball 3000 is about the people. I'm about the cars. I heard a Ferrari Enzo Ferrari nail past me 15 feet away at 80mph+ in 3rd gear today. That's what I was after.

Yah, definitely. Had I the chance, I would have stayed on that bridge all day. Most envious, I am, but thanks for the photos. 👍

X5.

Those two images really sum up the people in Gumball: intensely tacky.

..and Paul Allen's (of Microsoft) megayacht, Octopus. The once largest private yacht in the world (now 5th). Apparantly costs $2m a year to run...

Ridiculous thing. My first experience with one of those was a few years ago in Manhattan. Passing over the East River, a large boat was passing underneath. It was like watching the opening scene from ANH only from above. The best part was that instead of dinghys hanging off the side, he had a ~35 foot sailboat and a large (and expensive-looking) speedboat. The helicopter pad was empty, but clearly marked.

Nice lineup of black cars. :D The C1 restomod could have done without the chrome wheels. I just recently saw an ML63 myself; look for it tomorrow with a few others titled "Nearly Useless Photos". And I could swear Porsche is dumping 911 Turbo S Cabriolets as fast as they can. I literally see more of those than any other 911 Turbo.

New Audi TT - surprised they're already out. I also saw one on my campus - an automatic and perhaps the same one as this one, since they have the same colors and wheels. The VIN of the one on my campus ends in 1096, meaning it was probably on the first boat.

Yeah, I've seen one or two, but in typical fashion, no chance for a photo. Still would prefer the 3.2, though.

Reaching warp speed, I see.

Don't most of them have yellow calipers?

Yellow calipers mean carbon-ceramic brakes, an $8,840 option. Standard brakes have red calipers. This is true of all current Porsches (including the just-finished Carrera GT), but pricing may vary a bit.

Thanks for the comments harry - I agree about Turbo S Cabriolets - a vehicle I had never heard of until recently - I've seen three or four in the last few months, which is crazy because they had to be the most expensive 996, barring the GT2.

From the Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on April 28, 2007:

This is, according to Veyron lore, Veyron number one, owned by Richard Berry, grandson of Loren Berry, the founder of the Yellow Pages. Richard Berry is an investor and occaisionally drives the vehicle to various sporting events in the area. These photos were taken by my friend Joe who missed the game but caught the car which is arguably just as good since the Nuggets lost and the Veyron is ... a Veyron.

Enjoy - not too many of them in this thread.

Awesome spot.

But what intrigues me more is the C1/C5 Corvette bastardisation.

An absolutely disgusting vehicle. I posted photos in this thread long ago of that very vehicle, whose tag is 'RETRO53'. Ick. It certainly does not deserve to be next to the mighty Veyron!

It truly is hideous.

Is it a modifcation you can buy?
A one-off?

Though I may be confusing it with something else, I believe it was done by a specialty company for the Corvette's 50th Anniversery. I personally like it, though I think a '62 grill would have worked better.

There is actually a company around by me that does the conversions, I don't know if they are the sole ones but their shop is in Rochester, Michigan. I believe it's called Corvette's and Classics.

I like how they seperate the "Corvettes" from "Classics"

Today i saw:
1 Ferrari 360 Modena.
1 Porsche carrera 4S.
1 Audi Allroad 2.7tdi.
2 Jaguar XType 2.0d.
1 Jaguar XType 2.2d station wagon.
2 BMW 520d touring.
1 BMW 525d touring.
1 BMW 530.
1 BMW X3.
2 BMW ? (i think new models).
1 Ford Probe 24V.First time that i saw it.

Toronado will go nuts - and yes, a conversion can be done - and yes, the company is near Joey - we've discussed this before if I recall correctly, right Joey?

(Off Topic) About the teachers and kids at school with cool cars, I go to a public High School, the principal drives a Boxster (He got it as a wedding present from his brother), and one girl (a Junior!) has a silver Cadillac CTS-V. Ill snap a pic of it when I can, she already wreaked it once and she cant drive worth a darn. Bummer for the car.

m5 im pretty sure thats the same c5/c1 bastard ive seen at the new england gran prix... it hahd the same wheels and iirc the tag was something like that

So.. we were driving down North road when i saw this. My dad was like 'look behind!' and i was like OMG i and went crazy.

Not sure whether replica or not but it sounded and looked awesome

Went down to the beach (Huntington Beach) today. I snapped these when we sat down to relax for a bit:

I missed a couple of Porsches (ehh...) and a Cadillac XLR (damn!).

My eye-sight must be going. Doug, that's a SE, isn't it?

Anyways, today was ok. I got a Viper GTS with an ACR Pkg, and GTS-R-like body kit. Was very loud, in full yellow. Not the kind of Viper I'd ever really seen, so, pretty cool to see such a rarity in the Viper world.

Too bad you didnt get a better pic of the Diablo 6.0l :(
That aston is frickin sexy, would be better in BRG though :)

Actually, I could get a close pic of that diablo but just too lazy to go in front, so i just used my zoom instead:dopey:

and i got pics and videos of a diablo from the gumball rally already.

And that aston, I sometimes see another hard-top version when i go to work but i usually don't bring my cam so no pics.
