Definitely "found" an Audi R8 just chillin' in the back end of a parking lot with no owner or other such enthusiasts in sight. It was incredible and I stopped to take a few snapshots with my camera phone. However I must be an idiot because I cannot figure out how to get those pics onto a computer...talk about lame

What's with the wheels and rocker panel? Is that a special edition or just aftermarket parts?
Neither. Porsche offers those wheels at their dealerships as official Porsche rims, although the one Serge posted doesn't have the Porsche badge on the wheel.

Isn't the yellow bit a safety-margin so your car won't be dented by cars turning there? Our previous car got a nasty dent in the rear bumper when a car maneuvered around it in a parking-lot, parked in the same positions as yours (though inside the line). Blocked the rear wheel from moving..

but it just annoys me how much Porsche diluted their brand with these cars and the Cayenne.

It annoys me when people claim Porsche is 'diluting the brand' whenever they release anything that isn't a 911. Porsche don't produce a single 'bad' car today (though the Cayenne GTS pushes the boundaries of taste...).

but wasn't the 911 making them good money anyway?

Nope. Without the Boxter's introduction Porsche would have found themselves on very hard times indeed, just as they were in the 1970s before the 924 was released. And guess what, Porscheophiles complained that that car 'diluted' the brand too, forgetting that it also saved the company.

And I certainly don't see the Cayman as a dilution of the brand, not least because a large section of the motoring press say it's a better car than the 911.

With the forthcoming Panamera saloon I don't expect Porsche to regain it's supercar and racing heritage image anytime soon.

Have Porsche ever lost their supercar and racing heritage? The only time I can see that their image suffered (in the UK at least) was in the 1980s when they became the archetypal "yuppie" car when all the young "belt-and-braces" businessmen with more money than taste bought bright red cabriolet 911s simply for the badge on the bonnet.

The Boxster S is fair enough and ok they need a cash cow, but wasn't the 911 making them good money anyway?

I don't want to drag out this conversation and I don't know the numbers, but the Cayenne and Boxster probably quadrupled Porsche's sales. You'd be a very stupid businessman to say no to that. Porsche is selling cars to make money, not to please please people like you and me who don't own one. Even if we did, the people who actually are driving enthusiasts count for something like less than 10% of 911 sales anyways.

If you're interested go to Google maps and type in 1st & Adams Denver CO; this parking lot is the one between 1st and 2nd, and Adams and Steele; my car was parked next to the only yellow cross-hatch in the entire lot... you'll note it's not at the end of the row but rather a sort of crosswalk through the parking spots so you can get from the businesses that face Steele St to the second parking lot, on Adams. If you actually do all this you're my hero. Best wishes.

I hate to argue with Rue - and maybe I'm not because he probably knows this - but I agree wholeheartedly with the above comment. Dilluted brand or not, Porsche would've been stupid to not do what they did. Actually I support the Cayenne in that it paved the way for the Cayman, which is a cool car in my view...

I did say I wholly understand why they build the Cayenne and Cayman, I only meant that it makes the brand less special in my eyes. However, this all became very irrelevant yesterday afternoon when I realised again what indeed does make Porsche special...

Also, a nice way to celebrate the DYSAGT thread hitting the 13k reply mark! to all!

That's the first time I saw a Toyota Crown.

You can have some of ours!

And a bunch of Vipers and a Prowler. The guy that owns this dealership used to have a pretty big Dodge/Jeep/Eagle dealer a few years ago but it went under and now he pretty much just sells Vipers/Prowlers and consignments.

In front of this yellow coupe was a white RT/10 without the top with matching white 5 spoke wheels, and a red new body style convertible. It's the owners personal ride.

The Prowler

img0440xt3.jpg

Here's an interesting fact about that Prowler. It's 1 of only 300 in Candy Apple Red. They are asking $49,000 for it. They wouldn't tell me how much the RT/10 was going for...

Another fun fact about the Prowler...My car has pretty much the exact same engine. :D

The guy actually encouraged me to come back with my real camera...I may take him up on that offer. :D

edit: They also have #35 of 50 Ram SRT10 from the Viper Club of America.

300M? Intrepid RT? BTW that yellow GTS with the wing - did you happen to get any side shots? I think it's an ACR that I saw once before.

My contribution for today

300M Special.

You posted in the thread I made about it. xD

No I didn't. I will get some next time its out. It's not an ACR though. Just a normal GTS with a wing. Also, the guy that I was talking to said none of the Vipers other than the owners personal car had any miles on them.

+1, but the grass kinda wrecked it :(.

V1P3R's gonna be happy when he sees this.
+2 👍
Surely those Vipers must be cheaper than the showroom version, but wow, is he okay with those cars outside like that without even thinking that it might get damaged or stolen? :D

Rue: Nice Porsche shot! 👍

The entire value of those cars combined, along with the '71 Charger and late 50s Corvette I didn't show you, plus the AC Cobra replica with a real 427, plus the '56 Thunderbird, plus the Ford Model A, plus the RT/10 and SRT10 Coupe and Challenger/Dodge Daytona drag cars inside the building are worth more than most of the property in that town. If someone stole ANY of those cars, they wouldn't get far. Besides, they never have more than a gallon or two of gas in them anyway.

went to the canada day event at the park in my city and there was a nissan group there

nissan pulsar grey body was kinda rusted
nissan skyline R32 cobalt blue, stock body, nice exhaust, work meister wheels real deep dish. and bride carbon bucket seats
nissan skyline R32 alpine white, veilside wide body kit, deep dish BBS's, sparco buckets and full cage
and a nissan 4 door, bagged, and VIP like no tommorow, it was debadged and dont know what it was(possibly a president), really wish my phone wasnt dead so i could've taken pics.

Thanks buddy! Yeah it made my day. Every 993 I've seen with a GT2 kit has been just that. Sheep in wolves clothing (never understood that bearing in mind neither wear clothes). This however was the dogs bollards.

You didn't mention those before..... :guilty:
But wow, he must be rich or something to have that many cars for sale.......

You can have some of ours!

In some places you see to many and in some places you see allmost none
of some car types.
I love this shot the most, I never seen an Elise in my life, and this is my favorite generation of this Lotus Elise. 👍 Nice spots.

Thanks.👍

Saab 9.7X 5.3i.

Wow I was unaware the 9-7x sold outside the US, even here people don't seem to buy them all that much.

It's really nothing more than a Trailblazer with a Saab front end and different tail lamps. I honestly don't see why people would want to buy it over the Trailblazer or Envoy.
