Range Sport, turbo SRT-4 (annoyingly loud BOV, but I like the looks... sans eyelids)

I'll also add to Serge's Porsche sightings with a 997 GT2

Sorry; that's not a GT2. It's a Turbo with a GT2-alike rear wing and GT2/GT3 wheels. The front end is pure Turbo, as you can tell from the LED running lights.

put it on full manual?

Most Canon cameras, especially the S/SD series I had been using, don't do 'full manual' any more than Mercedes does 'ESP disabled'. Unless the light is sufficient or the flash is on, it just holds the exposure longer than it needed to be. In the past, I'd put electrical tape over the flash and the picture would come out fine. Why? Because there was actually enough light to take a decent picture. After a while, though, tape just gets stupid.

So I got a Panasonic/Lumix DMC-FS3. A pre-opened item from Best Buy, bought on eBay for $72 with shipping. Quite happy so far. All postings are 75% of the photo's original resolution, with stronger compression.

Speaking of cameras, here's some I found on mine:

BMW M Coupe

The first car captured with this camera. Taken in haste and at speed, but it wasn't me driving. Already a massive improvement over the last camera.

BMW M3 E30

I'll take it! Where do I sign...?

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

From the guy who brought commutes in a Ford GT and a Carrera GT. And a SL600. Depending on the weather. I'm guessing he's still test driving it, but it's not like he can't afford it....

Nissan GT-R

I saw this guy pass opposite me and go down the street. I thought I had no chance at it, so I let it go. On a lark, three hours later, I pulled into this commuter parking garage just to have a look-see. There was a Viper I saw there some time ago that my older camera decided it didn't need batteries for at that moment, and I thought there might be something else hiding there worth a photo or two. Fortunately, we can now see that the GT-R does indeed make a good commuter car. Strangely, though, it completely lacks the presence it does in pictures. It's not the color, either. This car is painfully understated in real life. You could easily confuse it for a G37. No bad thing in itself, just...well, this is a GT-R. What price heritage?

All 997 GT2's have LED running lights and the turbos don't have the black front lip. Here is another picture of a car that I know is a GT2 from a few months ago and it has both the lip and the LED's. If the black one is a fake, it's a damn good one.

So here's what I've been getting over the past few weeks. I'm not terribly happy with any of it, but meh, cars is cars. I've got more coming, including more SLR, Maserati, Porsche and Lotus. I'm too tired to continue editing shots for today. Some may be familiar.

Holly heck, avalanche of spots in two days! The twin turbo Rossa… isn’t that a Koenig Testarossa? It had no side vents, it could be a pretty damn rare car, the Koenig Testarossa had twin turbos (awesome picture that, BTW)

And Exige, the second picture of the SLR… great GRRRREAT use of the reflections, it gives life to the picture, you outdid yourself with that one, very good eye. In general nice photography dude, I loooooooove the face of the guy driving the Cobra! Like “mwahaha, idiots!”… I bet you heard it before you saw it and that gave you time to turn the camera on. More shutter speed so more blur! It would have been awesome. Or you could have told him to peel away, that would have been even better.

Well, would it be running aftermarket Turbonetics turbochargers if it was something that rare? ;)

A few dealer pics here, but they are well worth it IMO. Massive post from months, and second part is only from today's car spotting. Today we went to the city, and I had one of the best car spotting days ever.

A Local 355

Herbie himself (Wtf)

C32 (Another one was right behind us, coincidence?)

Looked pretty cool

A first, the new Lexus.

The new C-Class compact, and an AMG CLK.

A C63. First one I've ever seen in my life, remember this is from about a month ago. (Dealers photos).

Older M3 Cabrio, looked sweet.

ML63, these are getting pretty popular here.

Not a clue what this is. Hillman Imp?

A local garage, some nice cars here all the time. Including a rare Cobra.

An old Falcon GT 302 (I think).

A nice Evo VI.

AMG CLK.

Right, all the next pics are from today.

An Alfetta saloon.

An old RR.

There's an E63 hiding in there.

Colt Ralliart.

XKR.

A Suby Blitzen, inside the Crown carpark.

What's this peeking out of the corner? Yep, that's an F6X. Never seen one in my life before, also got a few more pics since we parked next to it.

A C32 and a 911 in one shot.

An A8 4.2 V8, and a AMG CLK hiding behind.

Pretty sure this is a Boss 302 Mustang.

Not sure what this is, a Triumph?

One of my new best spots ever, a 911 GT2. I also saw a 997 911 GT2 earlier, missed the photo.

A new STI, third one so far ever seen.

An S40R, another first for me.

One beautiful Corvette Stingray, and a Supra aswell. The next few pics are from the carpark of the Spirit of Tasmania.

An M3 and TT.

I saw this from a few hundred meters back, it looked like a TT. Amazingly, a R8.

A C-Class Compact, first onroad.

Evo VI.

Fourth C63 I've seen so far, god I'm a sucker for these.

Another E63, fourth for the day.

Not a clue what this is, can anybody help me out?

Gorgeous car, caught my eye from ages away.

An M3 E46. I usually would stop taking pics with the M3's but I have never seen one in silver before.

An old SL, this was a sport car rental shop. Had about 10 or so Porsches inside. I'm glad the next few have been seen next door to my school. The Lambo dealership was also right around the corner.

What's this hiding behind the SL? A nice XK.

Look closely, a LP560 Gallardo. Best spot ever again, but dealers don't count? There was also a normal Gallardo, and a Superleggera Gallardo if you look closely.

A pristine Corniche.

E92 M3, it was either a photo of this or a SL55.

A gorgeous RS4 Avant hiding behind people.

Another 911.

An S5.

Another STI to top it off.

Mystery red car looks like an X1/9.

And Station Pier is a ****ty place usually to see good cars. And you should have seen better ones at Crown.

We went on just about all the floors on the carpark, I saw some pretty nice cars but not worth taking pics of really. It was an odd time, and the Footy being on didn't help.

Should have gone to the Valet.

Mystery red car is a Pontiac Fiero. ;)

Also I believe the red Mustang isn't a Boss 302, since it looks like the coupe and there aren't any stripes.

Hey, $6 flatrate for 24 hour parking is cheap.

I don't think it's a Fiero, looked much more like the X1/9, I remember seeing it.

Ah well about the Mustang, it sure looked sweet.

A Fiero in this country would be super crazy Veyron rare. Though I want one with a V8.

Damn, if that was the case I would have seen 10+ Veyrons in the last year. Certainly looks like a early Fiero to me.

BTW the other car you are not sure about is a MGB.

Wow TL, must've been a German car parade in Melbourne. I don't see much good cars out here in the country. :( When i first looked at both M3's i thought the first one was a VT Commodore for a second, and i thought the second one looked like a BA Falcon. :odd:

There are quite a lot of German cars in the city atleast, and also in richer areas. Pretty much most of the spots I have are German cars.

Hmm, there are a few C-Class Mercedes Benz around these parts, but i think they're mainly tourists, there's not really many rich locals down here. I did see a Porsche Boxster a while ago and i didn't know the person that drove it so i assume he was from Adelaide or somewhere.
