Also this Veyron in Beverly Hills. (Also not very recent)

Apparently this belongs to a gentleman who is, curiously, named "The Game".

And, as I understand it, it is okay on the rare occasion to post without a photo if you have a really good story, and it also helps if you've posted here before with pics (which I know you have, Mr Initial D.)

To illustrate what I think might be appropriate posting without photos, I post pics fairly regularly and don't often post without pics, but tonight I saw a nice old Chevy Nova parked next door to my workplace. As it's currently nasty snowy weather here, I found it nice to see out, great profile on those era bodies. So, I snapped a pic with my phone. Then discovered since I changed my phone plan, I may not be able to email myself pics from my phone any more, and was sad. Then I thought, Snova, and felt I should share my story anyway, even without a pic, just so others could have the image of a Snova, too.

Just my two cents but I don't agree with this. Although I once argued when I first came across this thread that reporting sightings without pics should be allowed, I soon realised how that would really dilute the thread (as presumably was the case with the previous thread) and that ultimately, credible or not, no-one really cares.

So to me rules is rules and I think if you say "some" stories without pics are allowed, that's a heck of a blurry line you're drawing. Surely better to just stick to sightings with pics? Waaay more interesting too.

In other news as I type this there is a weird banner ad above, advertising Kaspersky Internet Security, endorsed by a beaming Fernando Alonso. Curious.

@vettekiller

The guy that owns bijan, that suit store next to the veyron, parks it out front every day...have you not seen it before?

That was on my vacation to the west coast so that was the first time I saw it. Actually he died a short time after that so I don't know who the car belongs to now.

So many Maseratis here it's not even funny. I must have seen 30 today. Anyway, Happy New Year everyone! Let's make this thread the best on GTP in 2013.

Some far-away shots.

There's a Quattroporte hiding over there.

Right there.

An 8-Series of some sort; not sure which model. Appeared to be in average condition, though it curiously had an M badge on the trunklid.

From Wiki:
Also in 2003, a division of Mazda in Japan released the Roadster Coupé, with an integral hardtop roof. The body structure was reworked to incorporate the roof for a substantial increase in chassis rigidity and a weight increase of 10 kg (22 lb). Production was limited to 179 units for Japan only. This was to become one of the rarest forms of the MX-5.[14]

I never knew about that!

The wheel is on the right side as well. Has to be that super rare model. I've not even seen one and I'm living in Japan. Nor did I know that it existed. Great find!!!

DAT COUNTACH!

Seconded. Looks amazing in yellow.

A few recents from me. Apologies for Instagram-ness, but that's where I post them all originally.

In reverse-chronological order from today, we have a mid-80s Vauxhall Cavalier. In the 80s and 90s these would have been everywhere. Today, I'd be surprised if there are more than a few hundred left.

And a Nissan 100NX (not that special, but certainly not a frequent spot)

I usually hate instagram's editing, but that Morris Minor shot is awesome! The photograph is great to start with, and the vintage feel fits it perfectly.

Cheers 👍 It's a pity there are other, modern cars in shot otherwise it'd be more convincing. That, and I've committed the photography faux pas of having a tree grow out the roof. But that couldn't be helped, shooting side-on.
