I thought this was a Thunderbird but I'm not so sure.

Ok thanks. How do you know is it 540i or for example 530i?

The M5 has different mirrors, wheels and bumper. This is the sport trim model, so it's bumper is of a similar shape to the M5, but the M5 does not have fog lights or the splitters on the bottom of the bumper on the two sides.

The M5 also has a side grill with a small M5 badge on it.

I don't think the sport model with all the options (larger wheels, sport bumpers) were offered on the 530i. A different sport package was offered on 530i. And also, looking back, I was wrong, it's actually a 550i. Oops, my bad.

It seems the nice cars are starting to come out. I missed a few though...

Here's another one:

Hah! That's unreal. I would have gone nuts if that had happened to me. Lucky he had the camera on hand!

Jeff, you were very complimentary about my photos on the last page. I think the thing is that I only post shots here that I have taken on my camera proper. So in order to retain the balance, I have some cellphone shots taken in the last few weeks that I have never shared with the web. So, crappy cellphone shots ahoy! Starting with something you don't see every day here in Hong Kong...

something you don't see every day here in Hong Kong...

Got damn that's hardcore. Awesome car. The rest of the post is amazing too, what's the story of all those abandoend cars?

Also, no pic of BBS-shod NSX?

Just took the Elan because the security guard was hanging around. That car park it's absolutely NUTS. Sooo many nice cars in there including a yellow Holden ute of all things!

Ok, thanks. 👍

I have seen quite a few of these popping up in my area and all mostly appear to be in good shape.

They did sell a boatload (or a hundred boatloads) of them stateside, so there should be a lot around still. But I've only seen a couple in the past few years (maybe because I'm in Ohio?) Great cars from a classic era.

And Rue, hard to comment on all that at once. Very cool to see your unprepared street shots! It's like Zeus has come down off of his mountain to mingle with the townspeople!

3rd pic what's the Merc model?

what's up with the Z? crazy bodykit/NISMO?

Rallye Monte Carlo 1967 Mini!

what's the odd thing between the Fit and the MR2? (sweet MR2, btw!)

what's the RS thing above the line of Ferraris?

And the last car, below the GT86?

Hahahaha!!! That's hilarious! You're too kind, Mr Goddin. Now, I am going to try and answer your questions without the pictures showing up.

The Merc is a C63 Black Series. I think the Fairlady has an Amuse front end and Nismo rear, but don't quote me on that. It's one of the Japanese cars that I know less about in terms of modding parts because I've never really liked them, but I have recent come round to their shape. The Green thing between the widebody MR2 and the Fit (which also actually pops up in the Toyota pic I have just noticed), is a rather heavily modded Daihatsu Gino Turbo. Kind of an original mini pastiche with a 663cc motor - I love em! The RS thing is a Type-R clone EK9 Civic. And I've got this far and finally my memory fails me, I can't remember what the last pic is without being able to see the photos...

EDIT: Okay can see the pics now. The last one is one of my all time favorite Toyota Chasers.

Been meaning to get a photo of that car for a while. Everytime I walk past it it's dark. Walked in the light today.

Not to mention the bentley behind them..... Thats a nice nsx too

Ah that's what I thought, but also wondered if I was being dumb and actually it was some sort of supercar I didn't remember... I do like what they call in the states either the 3000GT or Dodge Stealth. Seems like many people are trying to keep theirs alive, since I see quite a few of them still on the roads.

Snowstorm. Seriously, out of nowhere. On my way to work, 20 mph on the freeway. And witnessed an accident right in front of me (literally, I was 20 ft away!)

But, then spotted this Evo owning the snow like a boss! (generation?)

and later an SVT Focus handling itself just fine, too

snapped a shot of a nice looking Audi, too, thought S6, but just A6 S-line it turns out, so no posty here... local spotting buddy on the other side of town who hasn't seen anything in a LOOOONG time posted to the ferrarichat for Ohio spotters that he caught a Bentley Turbo R and Aston Vantage out in this crap. WTH?

Thanks, cool! All my other Evo spots (like 6 or 7) have been 10's. For some reason they're much less common than STi's.

So, recently I was lucky enough to go to Osaka for a vacation with my family, I drove around Osaka and Kyoto in a rental car so I missed a few interesting cars while on the road. Nevertheless, here's what I did manage: (In order of shooting)

8478282603_8f5d5fb171_c.jpg

Toyota Prius, while walking around the hotel. Very cool.

Nissan R32 GT-R, spotted near a beautiful shrine, with white TE37s, obligatory

8479375458_b5d2b19e53_c.jpg

Nissan R35 GT-R, so I've seen the R32, R33 and R35, I wonder if I'll get to see a R34 GT-R here...

8478285413_0fca84bdd0_c.jpg

Nissan Silvia S15, back at the hotel parking lot

8478285561_557eaab230_c.jpg

Nissan Fairlady Z34, drove past me as we came out of a teppanyaki restaurant

8479376050_c34512ef5a_c.jpg

Nissan Silvia S13, spotted while strolling around Osaka city centre. The reflection of the paint job is stunning, the owner really kept this car in shape. I've spotted an S15 and S13 now, where's the S14?

8479376232_2b47c6554f_c.jpg

Toyota Crown GRS180 Police Car, while hunting for more cars, this thing was tucked away on a side street. The officer didn't seem to care that I was taking pictures of him.

8478286147_33049a005a_c.jpg

1963 Chevrolet Impala, someone please help identify this. Spotted in "American Village". Yep, the "American" culture here is a really interesting interpretation.

8478286341_e9df55a75c_c.jpg

Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, Spotted the next day outside the "Deer park", where you get to see and feed deers that roam about freely.

8478286595_1b7c8f994b_c.jpg

Unknown mini truck, these things are everywhere, they are the bread and butter of Japanese goods transportation.

8479377168_958c490cb5_c.jpg

Peugeot 106 S16, anything European is a rare sighting, and an old Peug is particularly interesting choice.

8479377444_5f1d3a10cf_c.jpg

Unknown Kei car, like the truck, these were also very popular for delivery purposes.

8479377692_657583a089_c.jpg

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, I did miss an Evolution V

8479377920_bd47e739f7_c.jpg

Unknown Kei car, quirky.

8479378158_29fc2d66b7_c.jpg

New Subaru Impreza, interesting styling, I want to see what Subaru will do in the WRX Sti model

8479378392_5943b647d0_c.jpg

Nissan Silvia S14, great, spotted all 3 of the latest Silvia(s). The rear bumper was literally hanging on with duck-tape and cable ties

8478288251_06ca14364d_c.jpg

Lexus GS350, without much luck, back to the hotel

On the last day, 1 more shopping trip for a new pair of headphones brought me to this parking lot, and as I said, I was on the look out for an R34. Well, this is WAAAAY better.
8479379274_2c70de5673_c.jpg

8478289203_3e870f2e7b_c.jpg

Nissan Skyline KPGC10 GT-R

This concludes my spots during my vacation, I really wish I had more time on foot to roam the streets, but I'm quite satisfied with what I saw. Till next time.
