CS stands for California Special, if you didn't know (one of many old Mustang badges Ford has resurrected).

Yes, I was well aware of what it was, I just wasn't sure if there was a non-convertible version. Not sure the point of the coupe, though. I mean, it's "California" special, not "Canada" special. Put the damned top down!

Yes there was a 996 C4S Cabriolet, ridiculously. And yes I agree re: manual mode. Here's a tip - when photographing a still object at dusk, turn the camera from "single shot" to "continuous" and then just hold the shutter down. Usually that doesn't give the camera enough time to mess up the shot and on about the fourth photo, you'll get one that's perfectly clear and well-focused. Nearly all of my early evening shots are taken this way. Best wishes and thanks as always for the photos :)

Thanks, I'll try that. I've tried just about everything else....

Rue

I think so. Sure looks that way. 👍

Dude, how can you be so unsensible? it is a Hemi' Cuda and you didn't even get off your car? I'd sleep alogside if I could. the car has been restored and very well indeeed, I say this because, if it was original, it would have been on every magazine and I have not seen it... and it IS a real Hemi'Cuda, Shaker hood and all! rally wheels, horkey stripe, plum crazy colour... , how could you not see if it was a 4-speed?

Because I have things to do? :odd: I mean, I love cars as much as the next guy, but I have to respect other people's property, especially such property located on another's rather busy gas station property....

I'm glad I went with my parents to look at various appliances. :D

Some great spots recently.

I too enjoy Cano's wrecked and abandoned cars, each of them has its own story to tell. :)

Whats with the wheels on the SLR, not really feeling them....:\

Serge, what were those two L&M cars all about, at a stab i'd say old cigarette promotion vehicles (probably wrong but L&M just sounds like a cigarette brand for some reason...)
They look to be in fairly good condition though, i wonder if someone is keeping them from rotting away...

If anyones interested i'll upload some photos of an Evo IV with full rally sponsorship decals, looks to be pretty accurate to the original.

Yes those are Cigarette Promotion cars, and can you post the photo's of that
Evo IV.

That reminds me. I saw a Smart earlier this week on the highway going in the opposite direction I was traveling.
That reminds me, I spotted a black Smart Roadster near my house a few days ago when I came back home from tuition. Not just a normal roadster, but a special one I think (something like a Brabus or something) Just can't believe how small that car is, even the old mini looks bigger that it.......

+1

I think it's awesome insight into the Mexican culture. Americans have a TON of stereotypes about Mexico, some true, some not, and it's VERY cool to see actual photos from there. I don't care whether it's a CLS63 or a beat-up old Volkswagen Beetle - it's nice to see the images. In fact I'd love some general city shots to get a better grasp of the area!

Youre right, seeing pictures of the dirtiest streets and crappiest cars on Earth really shows us true Mexican culture. whatever. quit making excuses for pictures of cars that just do not belong in this thread.

I don't know if I would call them the "dirtiest streets on Earth," but regardless, a broken, rusted, falling apart heap of metal does not belong in this thread if the same people are asking "what were you thinking" for posting something like an STI.

The same goes for the riced out cars. Wrong thread.

EDIT: If that goes, then anything goes. I'll stop by my local junkyard on monday and snap a few shots for this thread too then.

Um, shut the **** up?

Jeez that was the most ridiculously pointed comeback I've ever heard to someone's opinion short of one of my own posts like two years ago. I like the Cano posts, you don't. Scroll through them. Put him on ignore. Get over it... and lighten up!!

Stating that those pictures represent Mexican culture is an insult in and of itself. And to play the culture card just to try to justify those heaps of junk is just ridiculous. Im sure Im not the only one who feels that they dont belong in a "Did you see anything good?" thread.

Sorry for the photos, but I didn't have a camera at the time.

I was quite amazed when i saw a Corvette C6 Convertible today. I thought it was quite strange, an American car in Scotland :p. Beautiful car though :D

I completely agree with stunpydino and M5power, and as it seems more people want to see them than those that dont.

Orimarc and Ryangee, please post your own photos only, i know you wont always have a camera, so if thats the case then perhaps a short story explaining what was so special about that particular spot, or what made it more interesting? Thanks :)

Rustbucket or not, it's always exciting to see these things. I always enjoy seeing Cano's spot, because they're lots of interesting cars that aren't the mainstream Camaro/Mustang/Dodge cars - and Cano always makes sure to point out the oddities, specialties or other facts about each car. That makes it far more interesting, to me, than even some of of Doug's and Rue's daily Astons and Ferraris - no offense to the two excellent exotic-spotters - because of the variety and uniqueness.

"One man's trash is another man's treasure" rings true here.

I like Cano's posts, they add variety to this thread.

i find Canos posts far more interesting than another porsche or another bmw
Me too, I just don't think the remains of what used to be some old piece of junk is such a great spot. Especially the riced out remains of what used to be some old piece of junk.

Ok, I agree there. They aren't "good" spots, but they are unique ones, so on that, I'm good with them.

Cano, by "good" I mean like an exotic, I'm not trying to say I don't like them.

Counterpoint: Some people are rich. Many of them drive Contis. If I see another Conti I will strangle the person who posted it.

Hillary LOST.

Does anyone want to explain that to me?

Anyway you guys are so right. Ill just post a bunch of pictures of old american cars that are a dime a dozen and maybe I'll throw in some riced out beetles for good measure and then, I too, can be a legend.

None taken. I agree.
