Seat Ibiza Diesel

Holly snot a Mustang. lol.

Hot Supra Rue, I like it.

MORE!

clean 206 with custom wheels and very low, I just liked it.
chuikita156.jpg

mid-to-late-70s Pontiac Grand Prix, way cool because these cars were never sold here and beacuse it was pristine, when was the last time you saw one as good?:
chuikita153.jpg

Then, one of the best spots of my entire life, an incredibly, incredibly rare Citröen CX25 Gt Turbo!!! Tur-bo!!! a normal one would have been rare enough, but no, turbo! what in the heck this is doing here I have no idea, Citroen left the country in the late 60s. Gorgeous car, got damn it was pretty well preserved also, those wheels are awesome!
chuikita152.jpg

Audi S4 DTM Edition, full of carbon fiber.
chuikita114.jpg

freaking cool 1969 Ford Thunderbird, the one with the suicide rear doors and hardttop styling (no B-post), superare here because it was never sold officially, I think it's a great looking car, I'd so convert it into a big-luxury car, black in black in black.
chuikita112.jpg

chuikita113.jpg

weird look for this 3-Series BMW with those staggered wheels, but I like it, strangely:
chuikita110.jpg

hyper-bling Ford pickup, with enormous 24 inch wheels and many body mods, I've been chasing this thing to shoot it for the magazine but the owner's son is very ill, so the waiting game is on; it has Roush suspension pieces and a Roush supercharger engine to pump out more than 500 hp.
chuikita105.jpg

look how complete this 70 Mustang Fastback is. it sits outside a shop that's presumably going tor epair it, and is incredibly rae here in Mexico, as we had no fastbacks of any year until 1971, the year of the heavy, ugly Mustan; a 1965-1970 Fastback is incredibly coveted in this country, even more so than in the US, because they are next to impossible to find. This seemed like a great foundation for a project.
chuikita102.jpg

gigantic and very rare mid-70s Mercedes turbo-diesel, has since disapeared from this spot since this pic was taken.
chuikita092.jpg

abandoned supercharged Thunderbird SC, weird spot because this car is very liked here in Mexico, good bang for the money in its time, I was surprised to see such a derelict one. Has also dispaeared.
chuikita080.jpg

1967 Galaxie Wagon using its full size to transport Jehova's witnesses to an assambley:
asamblea-junio-08144.jpg

ultra-clean Renault 18!!! its the best one I've eber seen because these things have a fame for being absolutely unreliable, but this ojne is kept in top order by the owner who also has some other interesting machines wich I'll post later.
ojitospajaritos010.jpg

later found the picture of another of this guy's rides, this is a 1966 (I thin) little Lincoln continental! Awesome elegant car that he has in absolutely stunning condition, and FREAKINGLY rare, Lincoln left the country in 1960 so none of these were ever sold here. His other rides are also big, spanking luxury cars.
megos001.jpg

1961 Mercury woody wagon, incredibly rare spot here also, Mercury was almost leaving the country by this time, and even so, I'm pretty sure this car was never sold here officially; looked pretty derelict but restoreable, too bad people aint intrested in this kind of car, they rather have a Rustang -_-
not009.jpg

very cool 1953 Ford Customline with aluminum wheels and, as far as I know because this car appeared in a local mag about 15 years ago, a swapped in 351 4-speed.
not007.jpg

This car was curious, because here in Mexico, we had a company called Shelby de Mexico wich issued special Mustangs (a few survive, I've been in one, will shoot one later) and a fistuful, some say less than ten, Shelby Mavericks that looked a lot like this one, specially at the front with the hood tach and Mustang hoodscoop; when I saw it I went nuts over it because of these details, but it lacked another important tidbits such as the tail spoiler, rear sidewindow vents and special paint, and most importantly, the 11:01 hi-rev 302, this was a I-6 car with a "hood transplanted in" I was told... could that hood be from one of the Shelby Mavericks? no one knows. just a piece of mexican Ford history. This car has disapeared.
not005.jpg

rare 39 Chevy tudor Sedan hunchback, been there for about 10 years, and in pretty good shape for that long, nothing would keep me from stuffing a 427 into this thing... only finding the damn engine.
not002.jpg

clean, very clean VW Bug with gigantic wheels and the right stance, and THAT colour! yeah, you can also find clean bugs that have not been turned into ****.
megos015.jpg

another freaking clean Maverick with certain street freak look into it, if it was higher and the Cragars wider at the rear, it would rock ass, but then, it's pretty cool the way it is now. 289-4speed car. Needs side pipes.
megos007.jpg

Yeah, this Barracuda isnt that clean, but that, folks, is the ORIGINAL paint, the original black stripes, original, hell, wheel covers, original everything, this car is the most original, good-condition, driven 69 Barracuda i've seen, and its also the incredibly rare "gold engine" 318 version, I know that because of the tiny hood scoops, these were suposed to have a stronger cam in the engine, wich was painted gold instead of red. Awesome car, I would not touch an inch of it. 4-speed too!
iklk027.jpg

1958 Ford ragtop sitting outside a paint and body shop quit near my house, rare bacuse of the ragtop, they were expensive and not many were sold here. I wonder how complete it really is.
hfg020.jpg

What I think its a 1939 Studebaker 4 door, very hard to tell with the entire grille off, but very rare car none the less, a couple blocks from my house also.
hfg005.jpg

cute daily driven 1965 Datsun, only needs some 60s mags instead of the steelies.
fghj037.jpg

again, check out how complete this 1956 Chevy HARDTOP is, this car should be worth a pretty penny if the owner knows what he has his hands on, because it's in awesome shape, ripe for a resto or street rod project... heck, get wheelcovers and you're good to go.
fghj028.jpg

pedestrian 4-doord Rambler Rebel with most trim intact, would make an awesome parts car for a two door.
fghj015.jpg

weird but cool 70s Chevy Suburban painted artist-style, it sits in the local federal Art college every day, its the car with wich the dinner room is provided with stuff.
exp029.jpg

RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAARE! how many of you have seen a Lada? I have way heck no idea of what this thing is doing here, I cannot imagine how it came to Mexico in the first place, could have been trough Cuba, but I doubt it... anyway, maybe the rarest spot of my life:
IMG_8630.jpg

aaaand that's it folks, I've finished posting the pictures that were up in my photobucket. time to upload the thousands more I have. gigantic post, this.

It's been awhile since I've posted, been very busy.

F40. This guy's wife was beautifull.....and so was the Ferrari.

365GTB Daytona. Sorry, my camera wouldnt focus...>_<

Great photos as always Cano. Always such an interesting isight into the car culture of Mexico. My dad's friend used to have the very same Citroen, but his was black. And the Audi DTM, if I remember correctly people have said say they're uber-rare, but I have seen loads of them here. I think they look pretty cool.

Serge, re your 355 spot - Beautiful car but the owner's obviously an arrogant pig. I wouldn't have any sympathy is someone keyed it. Of all the amazing cars I have seen I have never seen someone park like that in seven years of living here.

That's how you park a Ferrari...
fer_360_002.jpg

Came out from a restaurant with my family tonight and saw a red GT3 right beside our car...i wouldve taken a picture but my HTC is back at the factory as it broke :ouch:

Ok, NOW the video works!

 at the guy shouting GET IT SIDEWAYS!

Great Spot on that Citröen CX25 Gt Turbo CANO, last time I saw one was over 5 years ago, had no idea what it was back then.

Anyway, I hope to recover from my lack of interesting posts lately with the following (seriously, no one finds an Aston Martin DBR9 Le Mans Gulf Oil Livery interesting? and no one really cared about the Prodrive P2? I'm disappointed...)

First up, a funky Peugeot 107 Sport XS

Another Mazda RX-7 (feeling a little artistic all of a sudden)

Actually it's the 2002 35th Anniversary version.

:dunce: That's the number I meant, math just failed me at that moment...as did memory...

Lexus ISF, for some reason everytime I try to photograph this car the picture blurs.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b253/eismann1270/IMG_2131.jpg

It's because the camera is trying to tell you something: that car is ugly.

Yes! I see one almost all the time; probably the same one. I thought it was common, but I'll have to photograph it now.

Cars that I get to walk around and really look at the lines of when photographing usually change my perspective of them a great deal, mostly for the better. The STi kind of follows this. I don't like it, I still think it's ugly, but I can see where they wanted to go with it. I'm not sure they pulled it off, but I could see what they wanted. There is actually one particular angle from the back where the STi is the absolute worst and looks like a big old rock, for lack of a better term.

Yeah, they clearly wanted a hot-hatch look like the Focus RS or CTR. The only problem is that they forgot those don't have 4 doors (or 5, if you include the hatch). This "subtle" change dramatically increases the length of the car and makes it look like -- as you say -- a big old rock. I guess that's the problem when you create a compromise without planning: keep old chassis, make hatchback-y look, get ugly car.

Fantastic shot, though. Ever think of doing this as a career? I mean, specifically with cars.

Finally got something worth posting:

Chevrolet HHR SS

With this, I have finally posted all the SS cars. And I'm not interested in any more. Until the Camaro SS. ;)

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible

A rust bucket. Well-loved, I'm sure, but a rust-bucket.

Porsche 944 Turbo

For some reason, I passed this up every time I saw it not realizing it was a turbo. It was always under shade over there and the turbo logo was well-hidden.

That's funny....

Ferrari Testarossa

...which was two spots away from...

Ferrari 512TR

...this little beauty. I'd just gotten finished brunch at a nearby diner and, full and a little out of sorts, I was a bit confused as to which was the best way to make a U-turn. Had I not been so out of sorts, I would have never seen these. Sobered me up right quick.

Ever since Sat., it seems I can't stop seeing Skylines. :D

Anyways, stopped by Jotech today to get some pricing on a Greddy Evo II exhaust & some Ray's wheels. Outside, spotted the owner's brand new GT-R that already had its wheel & exhaust modifications. Then, went by to Triwerks to find out about their installation & labor costs, and caught sight of a 638Bhp R33 GT-R they just finished in that hour. Sounded amazing. According to the owner, the number of Skylines that attended HIN made Texas the biggest Skyline-owned state in the US, just 1 Skyline above California.

Didn't catch much after that but a very nice Carrera S.

Read what I'm saying. I said the picture makes it look like it was hit on the driver's side. Not that it was hit on the driver's side. The camera distorted the photograph to make it look like the car is driving on a bent frame. I'm not stupid, I realise a car would have a dent in the side if it got hit .

See which side the steering wheel is on? Yeah, if it was hit on the drivers side, you would SEE the dent on the drivers side. Since that's the side facing the camera. If anything I'd say it looks like the passenger side looks warped.

Once again read what I wrote. I didn't say it was hit I said it looked like because of the camera angle. Why is this so difficult to grasp for some?

And yes I know what side the steering wheel was on.

👎
If you know anything at all about perspective, you would know what we're all talking about. The picture is either skewed or the car is really weird-shaped. I don't think getting hit could cause that, but it's another possible explanation, and the one that Joey is pointing out as a possibility.

Good photos mate! I luuurve the little Bimmer. I imagine the reason no-one commented on the Aston and the P2 were because they were not 'in the wild' spots if I recall. Still great (and rare) cars, but if you go to a garage/dealer you kind of know what you're going to get. Not taking anything away from your pics though. But that's why I haven't posted dealer pics in the thread. Although I have seen a FIA GT3 spec. Aston DBRS9 here in the Aston workshop (with no livery), I doubt I'll ever get to see a Prodrive P2.

Not my photo, but the R33 is the one I saw. The white & blue R34s were also the ones at show, though I don't think the white one is a GT-R. Still amazing cars, and terrific owners.

DSC05686.jpg

The blue one is the one I remember JCE talking about as living in Plano. Great dude.

As you say Reventon the white one's a GT-T and the silver one next to it is a GTS-t. I love that blue GT-R! I have a bit of a quibble with HK Skyline owners at the moment. A lot of the GT-T owners are putting GT-R body parts on them and then topping them off with GT-R badges. Although they are as cheap as chips second hand, I'd still be quite happy just to have a GT-T.

Sounds like something I'd expect US owners to do. But, these guys just seem happy enough that they have a Skyline. However, a few of these guys aren't exactly full of joy with the new GT-R. I think, from their attitude today, they prefer the older generations as the best GT-Rs to own.

It's completely the opposite over here. It seems the world and his wife has the new GTR bug. They're everywhere you look.

Ar, that explains it. Oh well, totally agree, but I just cant refrain myself from posting those 2 spots... no matter where I saw them...
