Wow, I swore I put Lincoln. I was so happy about the SLS that's all I though about. Oh, I see what I did there. I was thinking Mercury.

Explorer? It looks long enough to be a new Expedition.

EDIT: Upon further review, it is short enough to be an Explorer.

Yup, however it isn't half of what the concept showed... we've been deceived once again: (well it's not like I'm ever going to see a Ford Explorer in Hong Kong anyway)

Since I'm currently traveling around the capital and Shanghai with my old trusty EOS 30D, I thought I'll take this opportunity to start a new thread and show everyone some of the good, the bad and the plain ugly vehicles here.

Here are the cars I photographed while in Beijing

Mitsubishi 3000GT / GTO / Dodge Stealth

A brand new Buick Regal T waiting to have its number plate affixed, there's a lot of Chevy Cruise and Buick Regal running about, they're like the new VW Santana for the Chinese.
Also, there are so many new cars on the road, you'll see a few non-plated cars everyday (Buy car first, number plate goes on second. Don't tell me how this shouldn't be legal, we Chinese just do things differently)

Now, having arrived in Shanghai last weekend, the only thing I seen worthy of photographing of is this. And I think this would be worth photographing anywhere in the world.

Well, I think that everyone would agree this is rarer than a Maserati!

I found it at a Church while I was coming back from my friends house, this morning.

Here's my nothing too special post, but I really am attempting to spot cars again.

I appreciate the Ranger, Joey D!

Anyways, I am an avid car spotter, but I've never really contributed to this thread. So I'm going to start contributing on a regular basis, starting with this batch. I caught all these in Houston, today.

That's all from today. I look foward to adding alot to this thread!

Joey D great spot on the SVX, are they common at all at some point in the USA? I've never seen one in person, and it looks so cool for its time.
Love that white SV, Zagato and Stingray! Great collection there astrodude91!

The SVX's might have been common but I haven't seen many in the area. Although in the Detroit area owning anything other then a domestic car is punishable by public flogging. They did sell 14,257 SVX's in the states so while it's not rare, it's not exactly common either.

I know the truck is slightly on the junk side but you really don't see that many old C-10's around anymore.

Thanks everybody. I see these stuff every weekend. There are some rediculously rich people in Houston. And they all drive their expensive cars around the Uptown area.

Home Depot is still coming in good with cars.

Cool old Cadillac that never came close enough for a good picture

And for astrosdude91, a Ranger. It looks weird because the camera on my phone makes pictures distorted if I move it. But like I daid, all the ones I see are rusted out.

Photo0440.jpg

I don't even know where to begin there is so much goodness in the last couple of pages. I feel bad that I can't be part of the action. Some really amazing cars! I love the flat black Ford pick-up, it looks perfect and the white SV is ballistic. Dac_Xint, your photos are jaw-dropping. I love them to bits. As the only one here representing HK at the moment it's doubly annoying that I don't have a camera. Keep up the incredible contributions everyone!

Buick Regal? Straight out the GM parts bin by the looks of it, "Vauxhall/Opel Insignia" in Europe.

Yup, it's GM's "world car". Since Buick has far more recognition and social status here in China, it's only natural for GM to sell it as a Buick instead of it's European versions. (and the sales figures proves the point)

Love the Alfa Romeos posted here recently.

Yes XM behind the Diane, quite common here still.

Till now I posted mainly Aston Martin Vantage, finally I got some shots at DB9s:

Yesterday on the Motorway in France I got stuck in traffic coming from F1 in Monaco:

There were 3 of these trucks:

Finally a new BMW 5-series, no special one, but the first clear one I got on the street:

Actually missed a black 458, since I just was coming from a parking and did not have the camera handy.

Most incredible shot I saw recently, not from this forum (458 + SLS AMG driving in the street in Dusseldorf this weekend):

Dear Me! This thread must be one of the most popular on GTP!
Surely it deserves a "Read This" Tag?

Anyone agree?
Also, an Esprit on the M9 today, no photos though.

Nice Atom, McLaren! There are a few here in Houston, but I've never seen them. I just know what the guys at the various exotic dealers tell me.

I have a few more pictures from Sunday. There are a few that I left out, and a few different angles.

Tha Boxster is some special edition that's missing it's black wheels.

That Zagato is awesome!

Following on from what Joey said.
Orange Boxster. Rare color:

It's all due to a Splashlight Studios creation that was shown at the New York auto show and attracted so much interest that Porsche wants to endow 500 new Boxsters—250 base models and 250 S models—with the paint job. The modified cars will go into production soon, with an aggressive front lip, revised rear spoiler, and a diffuser in the rear bumper that Porsche says reduces aerodynamic lift.

To ensure this Boxster is special, the package adds a dual-tip sport exhaust to add a handful of extra ponies to the already powerful car.

Inside, Porsche nabs the three-spoke Alcantara-clad steering wheel from the GT3 RS, and they've added Alcantara to the seats and parking brake. The car rides on sleek black wheels with silver lips.

Thanks for the info on that Boxster. I've actually seen a few different orange Boxsters in Houston.

I saw this STI in a really small town about 50 miles north of Houston. I guess even people who live in the sticks can have nice cars too!

It's unusual for me not to post photos, but I thought this couldn't go unrecorded.

I just saw a Silver Porsche 930 Slantnose driving past me as I was on the sidewalk. I had 2 bags of groceries in my hand and no camera. I was so pissed. The fact that this was in Shanghai where I doubt there are any more than 1 of these cars, and I happened to catch a sighting of it from no more than 3 meters away in an area that is far from glamorous made it even more special... I'll never forget the sight, the sound of the flat six... damn...
