Well, I came across this about a month ago whilst on holiday in Taormina, Sicily.

There was some sort of Ferrari procession going through the town which I heard but didn't really see, but when I ventured out for dinner later on this was parked on the main square.

I don't know what it is though - can anyone help?

TdF pics

Sweet holy hell. This thread has been on fire lately. Amazing.

Probably ruining the thread so far. Since everyone else has gotten such amazing spottings. This week, I've seen some pretty old stuff. I unfortunately missed the chance to get a picture of a rather nice blue Datsun 240Z. It was the usual resemblance of the Devil Z from Wangan, apart from a large spoiler. Rather glad I decided to keep a camera in my car for these moments. :)
Mercedes Unimog? (If that's correct)
img1073gw.jpg

Old Toyota FJ (Had a friend take it today from the passenger, it was wet today so kinda hard to see from the interior of my car.)
img1074u.jpg

And one new car, my first close(ish) up of a Mini Countryman...

It's a Ferrari 250 GT TdF (Tour de France)

Are you sure, It doesn't look right to me. The TDF had round plastic headlamp covers like the California spider, whereas this one doesn't. It might be an earlier 250.

That Unimog and FJ aren't ruining the thread at all, they're adding to the eclectic smorgasbord that is the last three or so pages.

Alright, I caught these two yesterday:

C5 Corvette and a '62 Cadillac:

And I'll check out this little shop of awesome Sunday or Monday:

as you can see from just this google maps photo...it's full of lovely ladies.

I saw many cars yesterday, and will make a post displaying them soon. I missed out 5 cars as I'm too shy to take a picture if someone is near me, so all my spots are from underground car parks.

I'm a bit like this. If I see an interesting car, and the owner is near, then I'll chat to hm about the car, then ask permission to take a photo. I feel kind of weird just taking a photo while he/she watches awkwardly.

Yesterday lunch: BMW 1 M

I won't even speak to them, I'm too shy and my speech goes blurry talking to anyone in public. Even walking around I feel like I'm a problem and in the way.

That Hyundai is pretty damn cool! I love what the Koreans are doing with their car design at the moment.

I worry if I take a car that's on the move, that the driver will flip out or worse, get distracted and crash or something. Sometimes I kinda hold my phone up in such a way that it looks like i'm just looking at it, then try to click as the car passes. It's a little hit and miss though =/

Don't go assuming the worst. I'm not saying you should overtake and cut him/her off before taking a picture but I doubt they'll get angry.

Once I got 'caught' by an SLS driver standing before the roundabout (my picture still failed btw :ouch:), just smile and go thumbs up, I'm sure the majority of the responses will be positive.

In some cases you may even get a nice engine rev. The best that happened to me has been a massive peel-away from a guy in a GT500, leaving behind a trail of tire smoke and everyone else honking at him.

The worst was a guy in a first gen Lightning stoping a few meters away and coming down from the truck to ask wtf was all the pic stuff about. I just told him his car was rare and cool and he was like "ok", jumped in again and left, peeling the tires.

Heck, even if you aren't taking a pic, thumb-up the guy, I've had engine revs from that too.

Yeah, if I see a really cool car I'll give it a 👍

Most people are really cool with you taking pictures. If they have a rare car, they usually know a thing or two about cars and are excited that somebody recognized something special.

Was there anything else decent in TMT/LK this morning IcyJ?

The Island started slowly today but got better as the morning progressed. I was struggling with the very bright light for the most part so some of these shots (namely the RS 4.0 and old 911 RS) aren't ideal, but on the whole I am happy. These are the highlights. Obviously there was a shed-load more stuff which I shall post up when I am less busy (I have a huge backlog of photos now!). Anyway, enjoy...

Impossible to top the last posts but here's what I saw today

996 Turbo

Citroën DS

Not familiar with this type of Merc, only similar photos I've googled were the CLS 63 AMG.

Jai
Saw a DS like that the other day, except it had a different rear. I don't know what cars to take pictures of though :boggled:
Just things you don't see everyday, at least that's my logic.

No...and I couldn't go to HK Island either cuz I had to be in Sha Tin at 12. Heard from someone that some cars crashed there in the morning and had to be towed away

The detailing of Ferrari's of that era were often quite different. Since they were mostly built for competition use, they'll be built to suit different purposes, owners tastes and even the whim of the designer. Scaglietti designed and built the bodies for both the TdF and the later California Spider, so it's not surprising they look similar.

Type 'Ferrari 250 GT TdF' into Google images and you'll see quite a variety of different looks on the cars. You'll even see plenty of images of the very car sausages posted.
