ooooooooooooooook people. I wasn't waiting for it, really. But two posts ago I realized I was two posts from my 7,000th post in GTP! And what better way to use it? After all, this thread is what brought me back here after a long abscence. So, after smack talking about it for more than a week, here is my return to the DYSAGT thread, starting with what could possibly be the spot of my life, look at this:

Yup, that is a real-deal street-spot Mercedes Benz 300 SL roadster right in the smack-middle of Mexico city, no less. Considering that there are less than 10 in the country 'tween roadsters and gullwings, I'd say this is my jackpot. The damn thing is imaculate but dusty... and missing the gas cap. I really really hope the owner took it away and it wasn't stolen.

Lets go on with this sweet, sweeet 1965 Barracuda 273 V8 (or so it said) that popped up in front of my work. And of course, I didin't take the camera with me that day.

So I had to go back to work and borrow a phone from some guy. The car was worth it.

Interior shot, displaying the cool 4-speed Hurst shifter; it only needs a Sun chromed tach instead of that thing to be perfect:

Then we have this sweeeeeet VW Caribe GT, the equivalent of the Golf MKI GTI in Mexico, but in here it was only called GT because our model lacked the Bosch FI unit because our gasoline was too bad for the system to work, so our cars came with a carb, lol. This one is in amazing condition and wearing a cool set of Ronal Turbos.

Check this out, when was the last time you saw one of these? Datsun 160J, like 1974, looking like new and putting around with the entire family inside like it was nothing.

Look at how straight it is. Not a single bubble of rust. If this hasn't been restored, holy heck, it's been incredibly well kept, then:

Even if it was restored, the car came out great. Even has classic plates.

When you are moving in a car you're bound to get pictures like this...

Of course, with a rare strike of luck, you can also perfectly focus your subject. 1942 Dodge pick up, slowly getting fixed.

Then this thing. I have my doubts, of course, because believe it or not, a Cobra II is a very rare Mustang, specially here. This could be or not, I don't really know, but heck, it caught my eye.

I found this rust piece that once was a 1970 Chevelle on my way to a flea market. Not a single useful panel left on this thing.

Near the Chevelle sat this 1967 Mustang hardtop. It was for sale, I remember my friend and I talked to the owner, but he wanted a ton of money for it. Damned thing didn't even had an interior.

On the way back from said flea market, we came across this 1967 Galaxie wag. Dig the purple poster for an upcoming surf concert in the post.

taken from a moving car, yeah, El Caminos are rare here, they were never sold here. This one was decent. The pic isn't, lol

Then this 1962 Datsun wagon. I ain't sure if Fiat also brought the state model to Mexico, but most likely yes. It was pretty tattered, but it's a miracle this thing still runs. You can see Mexico City's subway in the background.

This cool, abandoned 3 ton Chevy was inside the back yard of a construction material supplier's building. It was a pain getting the camera to focus the truck and not the fence.

You know that random day when you're driving around and you pass a gas station and a 997 GT3 is arriving...

So while he reposts I get out of the car and buy a Coke at the gas station's store, waiting for it to take off...

I was in one of the wealthiest parts of the city. I went there for a photoshoot (1964 Galaxie) and this happened in the return trip.

Enough exotics. Back to the real world with this cool 1967 Galaxie, complete with exotic-car wing and tons of rust:

Or how about this awesome-green 1972 Duster with mexican Super Bee aesthetics? I cannot be sure if it is indeed a Bee or not, but it doesn't look like it. If it was a Duster, it had a swapped-in V8 underhood. Check out the widened rear Mopar Rally wheels and traction bars. Cool car.

And lets finish this post with the traditional rice. Check out this monstrosity:
