So I was coming back home from the Ritz Camera, when this guy passed me going the other way. I made a very loud U turn and got out my iPhone.

What's an LF-A doing on my side of town, anyways?

Saw a big, boxy Mercedes SUV yesterday.. And many Turbo Porsche models, and tons of AMG models.. Some cars are too common around here to take a picture of. Bentley being the most common..

Saw tons of these, C63 AMG? ^

I'm planning a Camera upgrade soon, my £30 one doesn't really do the job.. Something that can take good, high quality motion car shots in any condition is what I'm after.. My budget is £1500 (£1500 is just £750 when bought through a Company - Which I'm doing)

Reason being, I'm heading to Monaco this Summer. And have applied an interest for taking pictures of cars around the North West.. Are there any Camera's that can take multiple shots at once. Say, as a car is going by? So you don't have to time it right until the last second? Any ideas?

Thank God the camera didn't show up VTEC Yo!'s dirt. She's in dire need of a wash :D Also went tunnel blasting with this pretty little thing in the Hills:

So it's legal to have front windows tinted in the US? It does look pretty bad ass.

Lol. Illegal. People tint them even though it's illegal and if they get pulled over turn all the lights on inside the car. So yeah, it's illegal.

I always post pictures, so you can forgive me for not having one here..

But today I saw the most awesome E36 M3 ever. It was matte black, but that wasn't what attracted me. The camber on it was almost at a 90 degree angle. The wheels were like giant black dog dishes. It had an exhaust down the side and was spitting flames. The lights, and windows were black.. The M3 symbol was custom made from what I saw as it went past. It seemed to be filled with a neon green jelly.. It was such a strange car, the plate was illegal I believe, black with white text..

If you have the cash and you think this is a hobby you are going to be serious about, then get a Nikon D7000 or a Canon 7D plus a cheap-as-chips 50mm F/1.8 and the 18-135mm kit lens. They will suffice (for the time being). BUT bear in mind it's not the equipment that will get you a decent shot, it's hours of practice and familiarity with your gear. 99.9% of all the moving shots I have taken in this thread were on my Nikon D80 which had the framerate of a lazy donkey (about 3 fps at best in RAW), but I almost exclusivlely shot in Single Shot mode as I couldn't trust the camera on burst. You'll find that the most pleasing shots of cars in motion are shot at slowere shutter speeds of around 1/40-60th of a second, so don't think a ridiculous burst rate is the be all and end all of a good photo. IMO the longer you shoot cars for, the more you'll want to get into the artistic side of photography rather than the point and shoot aspect where you might be more focused on composition or capturing movement through panning on slower shutter speeds. Anyway, drop me a line if you want some more advice but there a few top class photographers in this thread and on this forum that you could get advice from. Don't make the mistake many people do and expect amazing results by spending vast amounts of your hard-earned (it doesn't work like than). Good luck, bro! :)

I hate to quote a large post but I just have to say I love your photography work. Bello!

Thanks, man! Much appreciated :)

Sweet SL! I'd love to know how many we have in HK. Apparently a lot people in the UK are p***ed that they are becoming so hard to get over there as so many RHD ones end up over here. Bwahahahaha...

this is like the best example of what Rue said about stupid-expensive gear alone not producing great results; these are with a phone, people. Sure gear helps a ton but you need eye on top of anything.

Exactly! Also, when I said a 7D or D7000 would suffice, that was probably the wrong choice of word. With either of them, you wouldn't need anything more ever again as they are both properly amazing, unless you wanted to go full-frame at a later date.
