Mmmmmmmm....MkII Cortina. :D

Does anyone else think that the new 300c looks like a Chinese rip off of a 300c?
I don't like how the new one looks (seeing it the first time)
Didn't know how to describe it exactly, but your reply nails it.

So! No school today, great weather, and a whole lot of Supercars!

I arrived at Alderley Edge at around 2PM, and within the first 2 minutes a 458 came cruising down the road. The guy threw a wave too, I understand why he would be of a positive nature driving that thing!

After that, a California drove down the opposite way, all within 5 minutes. From here on, I knew it was going to be a good day.

The came an F430, this was the same one that got a parking ticket last week.

Then came another F430! In a more distinctive colour.

Then came ANOTHER F430, 3 in half an hour!

A FOURTH ONE!

Then came a second California! I really love the design.

Then came what looks like an AC Cobra replica.

Then a Corvette C6, very rare in the UK!

Spin the clock back a few years.

ANOTHER California! That's 3 of the things, damn...

Need some help here. This sounded like a legit 356, but I'm not sure. Looked amazing though!

Did I mention that the Aston Martin DBS is extremely common? Well, still, a pleasure to see every single time one drives past. Here are 3 different ones I saw today.

And the Second...

And the Third...

That annoying moment when an M3 gets in the way of your R8 V8 shot.

Still, it was only a V8... Here is a V10! Also in white.

Maserati GranTurismo casually sitting there.

Nice to see a 599 for a change!

A Lambo! Its about time too, I've seen over 10 Ferrari's...

The second 458 of the day!

And then the 3rd and 4th

What an amazing day. So many Supercars :D And every car here has a different plate, I guess it shows just how many different cars were out today, it was great!

You failed to notice the Elise in the first California photo. Fantastic spots. Would have to be a good day in Tokyo to see that many Ferrari's. Most people just by AMG's here.

Yes, it has a odd look to it. It looks more like face lift then a new car.

Carl the Sloth

Why is the license plate is that odd shape? I remember seeing other pic on here of a Aston Martin or a other British car that had the same type of plate and was just wondering why.....

I think they are made especially for Astons, though I'm not sure.

Today was another good day on the streets:

Quite common but I like the colour on this car.
VW Scirocco

Nice car but not too expensive.
Toyota GT

Who wouldn´t change for a trip on a sunny day?
Audi R8 Spyder

And a quite rare (from October to December 2012: only 37 registred F12 in Germany) find, my first sight of a Ferrari F12berlinetta, well greyish, but great sound.

In the 1st, 4th, and 17th shot of Sloth's... What's the big silver Rolls-Royce-esque thing? I like it, whatever it is.

Its made to fit the gap, showing no deep hole either side. Makes it look more crisp even though that alot of yellow. Some jags use the shallow D shape too.

IIRC, the UK only regulates the color of the plates, and the size and color and spacing of the letters/numbers themselves. The actual plate size is not regulated as long as all the other requirements on color and letter size and spacing is met. Hence why you'll see tiny plates on some cars while huge plates on others.

I believe it was parked outside Isetan in Shinjuku but I'm not 100% certain. I was able to zoom in on the Kanji on my phone and show it to my wife. She told me it says Nerima.

Why is the license plate on the Crown Athlete dark green (if it is)? Also, two Japan posters in the thread. Woohoo!

I'm not sure exactly what shade it is. I believe the colour of the license plate depends on the class of the car but I'm not entirely sure about this.

Yes, although only one of us is Japanese. The other one is from a cold country and is enjoying the last few weeks before the long, hot and ridiculously humid summer begins.

Here's a few from this week.

Need a little help identifying this one

Looks likely to be either a Panther Lima or a Kallista. Those awkward rear wheel arches are the give away IMO.

I'd say Kallista judging by the arches and lights, but the front grill slopes back more than on any other I've seen.

And while I'm posting, here's a few from today:

Agree.

Nice find on the Volvo 480 ES, Wiegert! I have never seen a shooting brake like that before! 👍

Yup, which is why you sometimes see more square two-line plates on grey imports from Japan, and Alfas, who (rightly IMO) don't concede to shaping the front of their cars just to accomodate the rather wide, regular UK plates.

The spacing, font etc. can be contentious though as some folks use slightly different fonts, spacing, modification of characters to make them look like something else and even the colour and positioning of the bolts to make the registration look more personalised, more like their name or whatnot.

I believe this is technically illegal, but not enforced to any great extent. The irony is of course that it makes the cars way more recognisable, to the cops also :)

EDIT: Nice 928 Clarke, so rarely see these nowadays, saw one at distance the other day and was pretty happy. See more 944s and occasional 924s, one of which I snapped the other day and need to upload here (I often say this but I'm really dithering over uploading my hundreds of pics to Flickr, once I've done so will post them in batches here)
