Im just wondering how much of a difference in lap times is there between using a racing wheel and just a normal controller. Are all the best lap times done using wheels? what sort of difference in lap times are people getting between wheels and controllers.

best times are with wheel you have so much control.

Anyway you should do a search for posts containing what you want to know before making a new post this way we don't get 100 posts about the same subject.

This will be locked now I reckon....

Shakey do a search mate. There are a few thread about this. I use a controller myself and I know a few others do that can just about keep up. I think there are about 5 or 6 of us in division 1 who use a controller so it can be done.

If you dont have good finger control though the wheel is the way to go. You can be alot smoother and it adds the fun factor in.

I use the pad.

Ican see that there maybe benefits to using a wheel. But as I and a couple of others have proved, you can be just as fast using the pad. If you can master throttle control and steering ability with the pad, you can be just as smooth.

The only place where I have seen a clear advantage with the wheel is at Eiger Nordwind.

At Suzuka things seem to even up a little as the GTP registry competition has proved, with myself and a few others making it into Division 1.
