Differences in setting

well, if you have low spring rate in the rear compared to the front, then the back end of the car will slide better, but wiht racing you dont want it to slide out, so you try to keep the spring rates close together, but usually make the back a bit less than the front so it doesn't understeer. Also with racing you want soft tires to give you good grip, but with drifting you want to lose grip so you'll use crappier tires, like standard. Theres also a lot of little changed you make, but basically, racing-grip and fast turning without losing grip, drifting-losing grip in the rear and making the wheels spin and staying that way.

The stiffness.

Race cars' suspension are usually stiff: high spring rates, so with shock absorbers and stabliser bars.

Drift cars' suspension are way softer (it's supposed to) with much more body roll and also rear toe in.

For me, grip tuning means stiffer suspension (especially rear), tighter LSD decel, less rear brake bias, more downforce and of course grippier tires.

Well if you are used to setting up racing cars you'll probably:
-Decrease ride height
-Increase spring rate to almost max
-Rebounce and bounce up a little higher like 9 or something.
-Brake Balance set up that way so it will give balance.
-LSD set down a little low.
Edit: GRIP TIRES, S or R.
Power: pretty high.

If you are used to setting up drifting cars you'll probably:
-Set ride height to about 120 back and front.
-Decrease spring rates, for example 6.7 front and 4.5 back.
-Bounce and Rebounce about 7 (thats what I use as a standard assuming it's not a too difficult car to drift).
-Brake Balance way higher in the back than the front. The brakes should lock in the rear causing oversteer. I mostly use double the brake balance in the rear as front: 8/16. But I know some people that use 6/8 and get amazing results with it too, your choice.
-LSD initial around 20, LSD accel around 50, LSD decel around 15.
I think that's good enough (I dont really care about LSD much...).
Edit: NO GRIP TIRES, N2's or N1's mostly.
Power around: 300BHP for about 1250KG.
