I have a fully tuned corvette race car, too much work to tell you the settings but lets say it's tuned to semi-drift. i have to use two different compounds to make them wear evenly. if i have medium Tyres on the rear, than i need medium hard on the front, do any of you have to cope with this, oooh and the setup is great, it handles really wel in corners, entering en exiting, asm 1 and tcs 4, the rear tyres dont really spin when i'm comin'out a corner so...
i dont think i'm overusing the rear tyres? do some of yoy guys and girls do this, two different compunds????

course we do...
and.... sorry "GT" but, if you use ASM and TCS at 1 and 4!! respectively, its pretty hard to drift.... i would consider just not using ASM and take the TCS down to 2..
that way you can try it harder and keep going until you have both @ zero... because ASM and TCS limits your driving capability

I tend to keep that same compound all around, but there are exceptions...The main one that comes to mind is the C5-R, the front tyres wear down much faster than the rest so I tend to offset them...Most of the time you can get away with the front and rear tyres being the same but cars like the C5-R, Camaro Race, among others, need to be offset, so I can relate on your tyre choice.

I keep the same compount on my tires...but if you are not using TCS, there is a lot more tire-wear.

Throttle control anyone? there IS a reason that the DS2 controller is pressure sensative ykno.. :p

Too bad that compensates for the DRIVE wheels...that won't help much with the C5R's natural offset wear...

make the front suspension harder.... so all the weight doesnt go to the front in a hurry when you brake... less weight on driving wheels = less wear, but less steering power too
its your choice... :p

yeah, i was refering to the c5 r, ooh and halfracedrift, ever notice that drifting all the time doesn't mean that you're fast all the time , and with asm 1 and tcs at 4, taking into concederation with my setup my car drifts with eas and when i want it too, i really think the trick is to make your car drift whenever you want it to, not when you hit the accelerator.
and yeah i have had this problem just with the C5 R and camaro race, that's really odd though, don't have this problem with the Castrol Supra? so what's the deal with those chevys???;)

course i know that... hence my name? lol
i know that drifting all the time is definitely not the fastest way around the course, but you can still control your car w/o the asm and the tcs if you're a decent driver..
i'm not trying to make anyone feel offended, but if you're a half decent driver, you can turn off asm and tcs and still have a fair amount of control over the car..

I agree with the 0 tcm and 0 asm.. if you are used to your car, and a half decent driver you should be able to control it most of the time... also who says that you car has to drift once u jam the accelerator? I just slam the wheel one way and overload my suspension into the turn getting my car sideways and using the accel to keep my car moving through it ;)

Well, my biggest problem is why are you guys insinuating that he's possibly a bad driver because he chooses to use the onboard electronics given with the vehicle? He may very well be an excellent driver, it is quite possible he merely uses them to grant him a higher level of enjoyment in his play by giving himself a smoother ride? Who knows...
