Hi Guys,

Back then, before the R3 ver was launch in my country, some dealer tends to receive the R1 ver first, and for the love of GT, i cant wait and i wan to get GT5 so badly that i bought the R1 version, which so i miss the Asian GT5 online competition because i'm not using a R3 version :ouch:

So now that Spec II R3 had already been selling here, i just wanna know weather the Spec II can read the R1 save file? coz i dun wan to lose all those shinny car in my collection:banghead:

anyone have the same situation or can someone answer this question? thx in advance, happy racing.
 
I think the only problem youll run into are dowloading DLCs which are region specific.

oh yea, that's one of the problem as well, this problem strikes when i try to bought the car and track packs just to realize i'm having a different region GT5.... hmm, since you say the save files will work, i'll try to get the R3 spec II this few days and try it out, thx bro

No they don't.

The system will read any game disc from any region but it will treat a gamesave from a given region's disc as a different gamesave from one with a different region's disc. Try and load your R1 gamesave from a R1 disc using a R3 disc and it'll blank it. This is for the same reason that DLCs do not work with gamesaves/discs from different regions.

Maybe it works like you say for GT5.

Ive got 2 other games, both R1 and R2 discs. And all game saves from whichever profile work regardless of disc region or psn region. DLC doesnt ofcourse.

Dont have GT5 R1 or i couldve tested it.
