Thank you for coming by Digital Racecraft tuning. The mission of this garage is to explore the digital tuning parimeters provided by PD, both graphic and track tested as this data applies to the cars in Gran Turismo 5.

Arm Yourself
NTSC version used.

All of the settings will be calibrated while using a Driving Force Pro wheel.

All settings are track specific.

ASM and TCS will be set to off. Feel free to turn them on but this will slow the car. ABS will be set to 1.

Cars are tuned for manual transmissions.

Looks good, very different from my own tune. I'll give it a go tonight! 👍

EDIT:

Let me start by saying: excellent tune! 👍 The tune is really, really stable and it's damn fast too. No surprises in handling whatsoever, even your grandmother could drive this baby. ;) I compared it to my own tune and apart from driving style, I couldn't notice any significant differences. 👍

Thank you for the positive feedback. :) I knew you, in particular might appreciate this tune. Holden has had the TLD Vette out the last couple of nights and this tune has been very competitive with not only his tune but the JP cars as well.

You might have noticed that I have not adjusted the toe settings. the reason being is that I did not want to mess with the smooth control/modulation that the brakes provide with a zero toe setting.

Did you use a wheel or controller for the test?

I used a Sixaxis controller. The Vette/Tuned is indeed very competetive, it's one of the fastest for this track and also very forgiveable, so almost anybody can drive it. :) And if you feel the toe-settings are fine by default, keep them that way. You don't have to change a setting just because it's there. ;)

Edit: I changed the rear spring and damper back to the 3/3 setting I originally was happy with. This car posed the same tuning challenges as the DRC Vette. Mainly oversteer. Though not as fast in the top end as the Vette, this car handles slightly better in my opinion and is a lot more fun to get to the podium with.

WOW!!! Thanks Ravenmaven, this set-up knocked two tenths of my time, due to me being able to ride the rumble strips in the chicane.

Aha, another Viper/Tuned tune, I'll give it a go and let you know what I think of it. 👍 Probably not tonight though.

I'm guessing the Viper? Glad you liked it audiobbc. And thank you for the positive feedback.

Okay, the jury is out. Here's the verdict on the Viper/Tuned. ;) :P

This tune is excellent where handling is concerned, it goes where you point it and there are no surprises whatsoever. No dragging or bottoming out, even with the really soft suspension. Took me about one round to get adjusted to the different suspension settings and brake points. After that it handles like a dream. 👍

Gearing is excellent for the first four gears, but when I get to the redline in five, it makes me want to shift to six....which is not configured. And I got to redline quite easily in free run already, which means it's a bit too short for online use. At present there is no room for drafting or rubberband effect. My suggestion would be to either make it a six-speed or change the five-speed gearbox so it has higher top speed. :)

But still, this is a very good tune, no doubt about that. But I feel it could be even better with an adjusted gearbox.

So that's what I've been racing all these weeks. A bit of garage rivalry is always fine.:D

Hell yeah. :) I don't own a PAL version so the world events are the only option at the moment for me to race with another garage owner. It was great racing for those three weeks with you and the other PAL users. 👍

We have had some good battles, we seem to be of pretty similar skill (probably an insult to you, sorry 'bout that.:sly:), so we're always pretty close on track.

Interesting differences in tranny performance between your test and mine. I top out at 6500 rpm in all five gears. Going down the front straight even with a draft I only get to 5900-6100 rpm in 5th gear. I'll double check my posted settings.

Thank you for taking the time to test NLx. It's nice to see a established tuner drop by to offer input.

Sure, no problem, I needed something to do anyway since I'm not releasing any new tunes until after the update. :) And it's always good to compare tunes, it clearly shows the good/bads of each tune (of both tuners) and how they compare to each other. What I like the most is that any tuner here can come up with a very competitive setting, yet each setup is completely different and suits a different driving style. 👍

Bring it!:P That's the reason I don't often test other's tunes, because mine suit me so well I don't need to. But if and when I feel I have spare time, I do reviews on the odd occasion.;) (I haven't played it much lately, waiting for the update, and better/more interesting events). I can't wait for the Lotus Evora either, in case you haven't noticed the home page of GTP.;)

Are you going to post some new tunes for the update buddy? I'd like to help you out with a review, but your 2 tunes are currently obsolete. I also need to remind everyone what a review looks like!:P

LOL. Well see the problem is...(sigh) I'm not diggin' on the updated events.

However, I do have a couple of tunes which I have used to win at a couple of events and will post them up as soon as I consume enough coffee and ciggy's this a.m.

Thanks for the reminder holden.

Just do what I'm doing, I've given a couple of cars for the Fuji event, most so far are for time trials and, err, nothing.:D Take my 147 for example, I kept it at 500 PP, put it on S3 (realistically road legal tyres) tyres. Any car on Race tyres is techincally a race car, downforce or not.:)

As soon as I tune this car I'm working on, I'll do the review of that Amuse Z for the Oval. What things should I judge on an oval track I wonder.......
