Diminishing Returns on Updates? Is it Time for 6?

It's isn't rubbish. It just isn't. PD really doesn't have to do anything anymore. If they were selfish and lazy, they'd tell us all to screw off by not doing anything. It's been over a year of adding/fixing GT5.

People keep bringing up that it took 6 years after GT4 to get GT5. Somehow all the features that GT5 has and other racers don't have aren't taken into consideration. simonk keeps saying "So no, you can't tell me any game changing/extending updates?"

Who isn't taking those into account? I fully appreciate what features PD brought to the table but that doesn't change my point of view that a lot of that time was wasted concentrating on things that in my opinion didn't deserve as much attention.

He sounds so ignorant (to me) because as I already said, he ignored some of THEE biggest improvements to the game. How is physics improvement not difficult/time-consuming/game-changing in GT5? All the changes that weren't listed in the update logs. All the changes that he doesn't think are serious enough, obviously since his opinion of them are different than ours.

What major physics changes have there been exactly? Have they sorted the issue that the online and offline physics are different?

You keep saying 'all the changes' but you consistently fail to answer my simple question, listing specifically what you believe have been major changes or updates to GT5 since release. Yes I've given my opinion that I don't think most of them are significant but I want to hear your opinion, which updates you do think were major game changers/added longevity?

All of those little unlisted changes are all very well but what good are the tiny tweaks if the major components haven't changed?

SimonK, you sure do take verbal abuse extremely well. Very mature. You don't even stoop to other's low levels and retaliate by calling your abuser names back. We could all learn from your wise ways, in this instance.

Bravo, sir.

The only update adding game longevity was the introduction of seasonal events. This gave PD the tool to extend A-spec infinitely; unfortunately they chose to use 1% of its potential. It could be so easy for PD to keep me coming back to the game and buy every DLC and buy GT6 (if that ever comes) with my eyes closed. Needless to say, that's not happening anymore.
I've been called a hater several times on this forum. I don't hate GT5. I hate PD, because of the way *they* treat GT5. I don't see all those awesome updates and unmatched support that others see. I see unlogical choices, amateurism and neglect.

Oh wow.

Like I said, these are subjective/opinions and you sound ignorant by continuing to ask.

All you do is complain about is how GT5 was created and even then, you don't know the conditions that PD had to work under. And you don't seem to understand that they aren't going have to spend as much time on a lot of the bigger things because they already did it. They don't have to add a lighting engine (sounds stupid saying "add a lighting engine", but you [whoever] know what I mean).

Was going to ignore this but couldn't help myself. I saw it yesterday.

I guess calling someone ignorant, but more like saying someone sounds ignorant, is what this guy just said is VERBAL ABUSE.

Makes me feel really sad how sad that is.

WHO the **** says that kind of thing?
edit: rhetorical question, I see it be said often. one time was like this - "sometimes, FU PD."

"Uhhh, I don't hate a video game, I hate the group of people who made it because they could have done a better job."

Amateurism? Neglect? illogical choices? Illogical choices I can agree with, but not completely.

They weren't "all awesome updates" like you think we believe. We're not delusional and we know they didn't come all in one night.

How is it ignorant to ask for your opinion which you still haven't given? It's a simple question, why can't you answer it?

What? I don't know the conditions PD worked under? how many more flimsy excuses are you going to come up with? I suppose you do know their exact working procedure then?

How on earth is asking a question and not getting any clear answers ignorant? Do you even know what the word means? If you've already answered my question and i've missed it feel free to point me towards it, otherwise I'm asking a very simple question of you and anyone else.

I HAVE GIVEN MY OPINION, I WANT TO HEAR YOURS.

I didn't think I needed to explain myself, but I will.

Prior to that update, I never did anything with the standards outside of upgrade and race. I really didn't paint the cars and the only reason I went into to GT Auto with them was for an engine rebuild, alignment or an oil change.

Since the update...

I paint and change wheels on the standards, and now shoot pictures with them. That patch alone has added several hours things to do for me. As my name here at GT Planet indicates, I am a huge fan of the Pontiac car brand. I have since then made several '04 GTO's in different color and rim combinations.:)

I see it often too here, with EA instead of PD. Guess it's not such a weird thing to say.

Yes the could so a Free-roam, BUT there is so much to do for GT....

- Livery Editor
- auctions House
- Hundreds of p Cars
- New Race Series (realistic races (different classes with massiv Cars in 1 Race,....)
- New Track
- better physics
- Get New license
- PS4 Engine
- New Race Modes (Drag,...)
- Community Features ( Rival Mode, auctions House, Full leaderboard,....)
- more Cars on Track (up to 64)
- and alot more

Free roam would be cool, but as a SIM you Need the other Things First.

mostly agree. except
- i don't want free roam
- i think 24 cars on track is more than enough (very few races have more, and not sure that PD's netcode could handle it, in fact I think they really need to improve the online experience since it is probably the biggest letdown)
- 100% premium cars !

Well put. As for hating PD; I'd rather direct my disdane directly where it is due. Who is ultimately responsible for the decision making process? Who directs their think tank or brain storm sessions? Who manages and directs the workload? Who analyzes sales and user feedback? Who needs to step out of the way so GT can once again be the premier racing simulator?

You do understand that insults result in this criticism by members here don't you?

You can be unhappy with GT5 all you want, but if you cared as much as you say you do and wanted to make a difference, you would leave these types of responses out of your posts.

It's obvious they are examining the forums to a degree, so why not leave that crap out when you obviously have something good to say?:indiff:
