I know how to drive a car now I’m trying to race cars on the video game. As far as mechanical knowledge, I can fix things on my car like oil, brakes parts, but I know nothing about specs. Anything of that nature I’m other than what the game ….so my issue …I found after I completed the game and now I can do the weekend stuff. I cannot keep the car on the track anymore. I can’t turn. I probably couldn’t keep the car on the track anyway before this, but I was just not racing correctly. You know on the road. I hope I can do it through just tuning because I have not learned the skill of manual transmissions on this game yet, but I’ve read a little bit about it. And it sounds like that’s the ticket is to do manual transmission but I’m also on a dual sense edge controller not a wheel.

What your tips on what I should do and where I should go so I can finish race again. Please help cause I do like racing. It’s not fun when I’m not on the road in the grass.

Or cheat sheet for what car use what track …one track that’s really been getting irritating me is Laguna Seca I’m usually to fast and can’t slow down I’m and or turn or I’m to slow I’m frustrated and lost all at the same time

It's hard to know where to start with advice because there's a lot of variables. We don't know what cars you're using, what tyres you run them on, which parts are installed, power, weight, PP-rating etc.

Better off not replying then what ever one would call that. I understand this about all the different variables. That’s also why it starts off with the very first word direction , I’ve never really used a forum before, how do I search this information for myself or I’m sure there’s been some sort of list compiled or no or else this wouldn’t be a website. Basically I just don’t know where to turn or how to ask for the information that I need. Trying to grasp the concepts that I’m learning in the manual but you know understanding what you need to ask for is a different story. I appreciate your reply although it seems to have the opposite effect on what I was going for just have to be more defeated…. I attempted a pro runtime Calculator from another website, but it was a free one is that probably my only route…..? does anyone know ? Or has a community found that this is probably the easiest route if there are these apps to pay for and get load out for specific race , or better yet, How did you guys figure out how to make your car set up maybe that can give me some insight on how I can go about configuring myself to the conditions for races effectively leading to enjoying the game cause it’s either stop playing or get a second career and learning everything about vehicles and racing two options I see

Bit unnecessarily rude. I was just trying to get an idea of how you're trying to play the game in order to be able to give advice that is actually helpful. Tuning in GT7 is complicated, so the general rules vary massively. Advice for setting up a race car wouldn't necessarily translate to a road car, and setting up road cars depends quite dramatically on what tyres you use.

If it helps, I have a detailed tuning guide that mainly focusses on road cars and controller users, but it's over an hour long. There's time-stamps to find bits more relevant to you.

Before you start looking at tunes I'd recommend taking some time to practice your racing lines, for example by doing the Circuit Experiences and the license tests. Once you feel comfortable with that you can start looking at tuning.

Well, that’s not how I interpreted your reply all I figured it was ….you thought that I was somebody didn’t know left and right which I don’t and instead of asking how can I help you? Replied to just say there’s a big world out there. Good luck.

It may came off rude, I think it’s more me just overcompensating for not knowing what to say and or how to ask then first entity interacted with here reply’s seemingly with a dead ended reply…….you know when males or I at least feel less or fearful we get loud and or angry emotionally overcompensating…..driving the actions that follow said lacking ……Apologies I did feel it was harsh, but how else do I express myself I chose to go back and edit the ( ) to better explain the opening line … like most things … seemed like a good idea at the time

Apologies

Based purely on the information you've provided my advice would be to start slowing down more, slow is faster than off the track (most of the time except where corner cutting). If you think you're going at the right speed, go slower. Then once you start to learn the track, the braking points etc. You can start to speed up, brake later, corner faster etc.

Use some of the driver aids in the game, in particular the driving line which also tells you when to brake might help while you get used to the game and controls.

I don't think Manual v automatic transmission is the solution, generally people proficient at manual gears might gain some time, but it's not going to be the differentiator between staying on track or not. If anything, having less to think of might help depending on your skill level.

Not to be rude either, but you haven't really given any indication of your skill at the game, your ability to change oil etc. in real life isn't all that relevant. So you might be better off explaining in more detail specifically what you are struggling with, share the car you're having trouble with along with the tune and settings you are using.

If anyone asks a question you find condescending, remember, they don't know anything about you yet and are just after more information so that they can help.
