I have a few questions for anyone who knows or has progressed past season 2 or 3 of the Dirt Tour.

#1. Are there performace upgrades for power for all cars like there was in Dirt 2? (Rookie, Pro, Allstar) I'm finding that alot of the cars seem rather slow/boggy and easy to manage. Even the trail blazer cars feel like the have a cap on speed.

#2. Are there only four Rally locations? (Finland, Kenya, Norway, and Michigan.) I understand that Rallyx and other disciplins add some more locations, but its not a tradition rally stage. What happen to Croatia, Utah, Malaysia, China, and Morroco?
This is supposed to be 60+ percent rally...but there only 4 places to go?..and the stages arn't that different or very long. Seems like there has to be more!

There are only the four locations you mentioned. Monte Carlo and Shibuya have been suggested as DLC locations, and there is evidence to support their eventual inclusion. Croatia, Utah, Malaysia, China and Morocco have all been dropped. Although it's always entirely possible that they will be re-drawn and re-released as DLC.

The game is 60% rally, with the four locations having eight stages each - so that's thirty-two stages to begin with.

I could care less about a Rallyx DLC...

Although! The Monte Carlo Rally has great history in the WRC. I would love to see a DLC track pack that brings some of the essense of the former WRC location. Seeing as they did a great job with the Kenya location, a Dirt 3 version of Monte Carlo would be sweet.

Still looking for some insight here...

AWDwhite, make sure your stability control is turned off, otherwise it will cap your throttle and make you sputter around a corner like a granny.

As far as I can tell - no. Although the career mode is set up in a way to keep you out of the faster cars until later. For example, you only gain access to gymkhana at the end of the first season, trailblazer and open class rally during season 2 and WRC class during season 3 (I think).

I'm on the final event now in the 4th series and no there I no modification of cars sadly. As your rep increases you continue to unlock liveries and the manufacturer who does the livery from what I can gauge mods the car themselves. So for example Puma livery is not as well tuned as the latter Monster Energy cars. If that makes sense.

Gymkhana had me pulling hair out... because I was always just a second or 2 short from reaching Platinum.

The MR RWDs are a pain in the butt to drive.

Finished the first season and just started the second.

Gymkanas had me pulling my hair out as well.....until i turned the difficulty down, just about to do the Winter X Games....leaving the world tour events till last

until i turned the difficulty down...

When I first started, with that Fiat Punto, I had the settings on Intermediate with all AIDS off except ABS... Flipped the car on the first turn because I wasn't used to the steering sensitivity. I gave up after a while and put it on casual and ran through that like a breeze. Then I realized how lame it was driving like that, so I eventually put it on advanced default, and never adjusted a setting on any car I picked.

I'm currently about to start the 3rd set of events in Season 2.

The only main thing I struggle in Gymkhana is the small box where you have to donut inside it. I either drift around the outside or crash into the barriers when I'm inside it. I can also only seem to get bronze's.

I must admit that I'm struggling to get Platinum in the DC Challenges, I have a couple of Platinums, a few Golds and one Silver so far. I haven't tried reducing the difficulty in order to get Platinum as I'm happy enough to get Gold for the time being.

I'm currently doing the Trailblazer event in Kenya using the Rhys Millen PM580, all assists off except for ABS and difficulty set to 5. It seems alot easier to win the Trailblazer races in Kenya than anywhere else in my opinion.

I don't think adjusting the difficulty does anything to affect the requirements. I've been fiddling with it to provide as much of a challenge as possible in other events (I take rallies at a three, rallycross and head-to-head at four, trailblazer at two and landrush at five) and I haven't seen the outcomes for the gymkhana challenges change.

I mostly leave the difficulty set to 5, although I sometimes lower it to 4 or 3 if I'm struggling with a particular event.

For example, I tried doing the Gymkhana event 'King of California' with the difficulty set to 5 and I came 5th, with the winner reaching a score in the region of 350,000. I then set the difficulty to 2 and I could see that the guy in first place only had a score of about 200,000, a score that I could easily beat.

Yeah, King of California is giving me a few problems. Largely because I don't know the second arena too well. And also because gymkhana is still a bit of a black art to me.

Anyway, I'm getting better at Trailblazer. I just did the Michigan pro event (from the smaller triangles) and won easily with the dificulty at about three. I'm still hesitant, especially at night, but the corners are starting to imprint themselves in my mind.

^^I really like trailblazer, its a fast paced challenge.

I just unlocked the rallycross world championship too, I had no idea this game was so big :D.

Does anyone know if its possible to unlock the 95 Impreza...or is it only available through the VIP code?

I hope not... becasue that means I have to wait in'till Wednesday to beast around in the GC8!

I have complated all event's on dirt3 including the world tour's and the dc compund and still no mk2 escort can anybody help?

Thanks, John

That's probably DLC. Like the Lancia Stratos and the BWM M3 Rally. They appear on the offline time trial "top 5" but are not in-game.

Dragonistic, you are fantastic at this game.... taking 1st place like nothing, every event... How often have you been playing this game because you seem to know how fast you can go through most corners.

Me and the EGO engine have always got on really well from the start, the start being Dirt 2, so some of it comes just the way the engine and my driving style go together and then I've just built on that with more experience through both titles.

I've only had 3 since last Saturday, so I've not played an awful lot in the scheme of things though I've played a fair amount in the time frame. For me Dirt 3 hasn't been a learning of how to drive the physics, more a learning of the courses and new cars. I'm not perfect overall, I'm just good at all the disciplines I think without meaning to blow my own trumpet.

Though you were so close to beating me on Michigan Trailblazer, I'm sure it was evident that I'd not seen that track very much at all because I was being relatively cautious particularly on the last turn where I left a window of opportunity but unfortunately you ended up crashing and finishing 4th somehow (which shocked me).

I have to play this with you some Phil :P. I have work today and have no idea when your playing hours are but ill put my out for you.

Today I can play 6pm GMT to 12pm GMT. Is that in your time at all?

So like 24 hours (well 18-24 ish) from now? Potentially but not definately as I've been really busy since the moment I got home.

. As nice as that is and all, I may just have to attend school and take some exams :P. I have holidays in a few weeks though if we cant find a space in the weekend at all.

Curse you UK folk .

I had a feeling you had previous experience with the Dirt Series...It's like how I got good with HP3 so quickly thanks to Hot Pursuit 2 and Burnout.

Don't worry, I know how I can improve drastically at this game in a short period of time. My main problem is memorizing the course, once I get a TT going, I'll be memorizing segments and will know the fastest way (ideally) to tackle it by then. There's no way in hell I'll buy a game and not be good at it. 👍

I can see time trial being a good way to get quicker using the top ghosts as a guide, I avoid them myself as I'm not out there to be good or try to be the best I can be I just happen to be good . TTs just tend to bore me when I could be out there competing against others.

I don't want to use ghosts... I use my own split times to see where I can improve. It's what I've been doing this entire game.

When you have a ghost running, you feel like you're racing it, so you'll start driving completely different in an attempt to overtake it without fully understanding how you do so. At least, it's like that for me in GT5. The plus side is that you have instant feedback whether you took the corner good or not.
