Welcome to the Dirt 3 Offline Rally Series, a multi-class championship open to players across all three systems/consoles. There will be four rallies in this series (Finland, Norway, Kenya and Michigan), with the possibility of a bonus round at Monte Carlo round if the DLC pack is released by the end of the series. There will be 5 stages in each rally, with the possibility of a head to head stage at the end as well.

This series uses a class system where there are two leagues, premier league and minor league. Depending on the number of drivers entering each week, either two or three players will move either up a league or down a league, depending on results

The deadline for submitting times will be at midnight Saturday GMT, with the results and rally details put up on Sunday.

To submit, send your stage times to me via the form which will be included in the post for each new rally.

Rules:
Stages are to be run in Single Race mode.
ABS and Stability Control can be used, but all other assists are banned.
Some shortcuts are allowed (ie, where the co-driver's call includes the word cut), but exploits of the track boundaries, cutting corners behind objects such as trees, etc, is not allowed.
Flashbacks are not allowed.
Avoid contact with AI drivers at all times.

Please note that all new entrants will be starting in the Minor League.

Someone beat me to the cake with the Time Trial...

I'll join but I seriously need to remember what cars and liveries exist...

Same... I had to go on DiRT because I couldn't remember any of the teams.

I just bought this, but interested in this.

Alpinestars is actually black and white, but I could be wrong.

No, the Alpinestars livery is black and white... I think you may have mixed it up with the Recaro livery.

Then why do I always race red and blue Alpinestars cars? I might be colour-blind, but I'm not that colour-blind.

They might be different on the PC version, as the sponsor logos on the PS3 version are also black and white.

Sounds like fun.

This sounds like fun. I just got the game and will be looking for stuff to do that are like the WRS events.

I suppose I should put my own entry in, given the fact I'm running the series :)

So, is this going ahead? We've got four in the 90s class. Maybe if everybody raced in the 90s class to begin with?

I don't mind switching to the 90s class either sowe can get rolling. I'll pick a car when I get home.

Maybe after we run this series, stig can just pick the class at the start of each series.

I can switch to the 90's but it may be until Monday until I can get my entry in because I got a busy weekend.

We'll just stick to the 90's class this week and see how it goes. If some more people join up before next week then I'll revert back to the old setup.

if we start tomorrow, do we just run the five stages and report our times back to you by next Friday?

Round 1 - Michigan

The first round of the DiRT3 Offline Rally series is taking part in Michigan, which features a mix of tarmac and gravel stages.

NOTE: For this round everyone will be using 90's cars, so please post your choice of car for this round either in this thread. Points scored this round will only count towards overall standings and for the 90's class.

Stages:
Stage 1: Peninsula Run; Morning, Sun
Stage 2: Lighthouse View; Rain
Stage 3: Quincy Mine; Wet
Stage 4: Pine Ridge; Evening, Sun
Stage 5: Kenton Descent; Night

Submit your results via this Entry Form before 4PM Australian Eastern Standard Time Friday the 17th.

Just one question: are we doing this through single races or time trials? Some people like time trials because they can see their ghost car. Others - like me - tend to post better times in the thick of competition.
