It would be cool. Probs next gen material. Hopefully they get damage like beamNG drive

Everyone is mentioning beamNG drive damage physics but I think next car game damage physics are a lot better in just about every single way.

Over on the codies forum there has been slips of the mouths, or they have done it one purpose which points towards one. I am sure we will know soon though.

I was at the test day in November for GRiD Autosport, and I saw a lot of things but I can't say! ;)

Give a hint about something????;)

I have to assume you haven't enjoyed anything CM has made in the last...8 years or so as I believe it's been used since DiRT 1 in some form.

On the other hand, while I take issue with the finicky penalty system in the F1 games, GRID 2 and DiRT Showdown are the only two (no GA yet) that use EGO I dislike. It seems like an engine that can do....many things. I hope for an expansion of the numbered series, by that I mean more of everything except Gymkhana.

In terms of the driving model, every Codemasters racing game I've played has only been kind of borderline enjoyable. To me, they define the term "floaty handling", and it spans from the original Colin McRae and TOCA Race Driver games, to Grid and Dirt 3. It's kind of endearing in a "retro arcade-style and we don't give a 🤬" way, but it's too vague and obtuse to be a comfortable fit.

I just want the handling to make sense, if that makes sense. I haven't tried Grid Autosport yet so maybe they've now tackled that problem.

I know what you mean and Autosport is no different, still has that floaty feeling to it. Car feels more like its turning on a center pivot rather than the front wheels, but autosport isnt a bad game.

Pretty much, Last gen for Codies had a bit of a nightmare imo. Have to be honest and say the F1 games have been the only one's i've enjoyed on the Ego engine (Had them all apart from GAS) The floaty weird handling and ultra brakes for Dirt & Grid were just strange. Dirt just never felt right compared to the rally games of the PS1 & PS2 era which all comes down to the Ego engine i reckon something is off with it.

Hmmm. I do understand what you and Wolfe are saying, but I myself haven't had an issue with it. The only big differences I see between EGO and pre-EGO is that you bounce more now, and the sliding is a bit more forgiving. Greed BS aside, I've greatly enjoyed many of CMs racers. If I have a complaint about the new ones, it's that there is so much different stuff, but only a relatively small number of places to do it with in single player.

Yeah, I rented Dirt 3 when it released, and it was so thin I finished half of the career mode without effort. I later bought the Complete Edition, and although there are enough cars, it still feels light on content.

I finally ordered a PS4 (dell deal that comes with $100 egift card) ... would love to start playing a good rally game on that thing sometime soon...

Well after almost every news site picked up on this, the now claim the 4 was the number of prizes up for grabs in a twitter thing, trolling? yes. Still won't rule it out completely yet.

They tease Dirt4 since a few months, it isn't only that tweed.
I don't know when, but i would bet that we see Dirt4 this or next year.

I hope they make it with their next gen engine, though. Which probably would mean a spring 2015 release around the same time as F1 2015 arrives on the next gen consoles.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's an official World RX game heading our way.
