Dirt vs Clean-ness?

I hope there is very little dirt in GT5. Playing Forza, I hated doing a 3 lap race around Twin Ring Motegi and taking a picture of my ae86 passing a Vette on the last turn and the car being covered in filth. I could have understood if I'd ran through dirt, but its an oval. At this rate I'd hate to see what a car whould look like after a 500 mile race.

Agreed - Forza's approach to dirtying up the cars was a little too quick.

And Soprano - thanks for the kudos on the paint job. :) It's the work of a very talented gentleman who participated in a tournament series with a group of gamers from another forum I frequent. Just think what 16 GTplanet cars would look like in a race series on GT5!

Adding a bit of "race dust" is always a good thing... one aspect of Forza 2 that I hope makes its way into GT5. Then it'll be off to the car wash for a spin and an oil change. :)

I just have to say.. Forza 2 graphics looks like ****! :lol:

EDIT: well not the graphics, but the cars! GT4 cars looks better than that! except for the higher definition in Forza 2..

Still it's a very nice addition. You gotta love FM2 for it's small touches(dirt/tiremarks).

True to that, There is a video you can find, and shows that GT4 has better car models then Forza

I dont care if the cars get dirty or not.

It seems that most developers (not only racing-games developers) try to add as many features as possible (dirt, damage..) so they can advertise them on the box to make you think: oh great this game has everthing i like !

But most of them just dont do it perfect. They even dont do it good.

So for me it is better to miss a feature than to have a crap one.

And for that picture above: as always when i see a ingame shot of FM2 i must laugh because of these "red glowing brake discs" which is sooooooo unreal.

Wow that was great. I like the 2.5RS in real life but it has to be one of th ugliest cars in Forza. Not to mention the NSX R (my favorite car) is like 2feet off the ground as if it was preped for an offroad course. But anyway...

Today when I got to college, I was lucky enough to park my crappy 5 thousand dollar car next to a black and shiny Acura NSX. WOW man its so low to the ground.. I almost miss a class because of that car. I was looking at American Pricing on that car.. and its about 70 thousand dollars.. :( I'm 65,000 short.
 
Dude I love it and plan on having one. You can get an older model for $18-20k atleast (maybe lower with high mileage or body damage). Its a 100% track car and also it has titanium body panels so you should not find one with rust. If I get a hold of one I dont plan on ever selling it.:sly:

I can't even afford 20 K right now.. and I bet you, once I finish with school, get a JOB, only like 20 in the world of the NSX will survive. :nervous:


Just to stay on topic.. yes It would be cool to have dirty cars in GT5, but I really care less about dust :)
 
Yea im looking into getting a S2000 within the next 2-3yrs. Maybe an NSX in the next 6-10.

Back on topic: If PD adds dirt effects I believe they'll do it right but I cant say I would care if they left it out...
