Perhaps having the winning driver reveal their settings in order to help you learn from them and then go on to learn more and more to help your overall times outside of this competition.

I'd learn a lot more if we just compared the core of the cars, meaning excluding any minor tweaking with tuning...but whatever, it seems people are already opposed to it.

You'll never learn how to set up the car if you don't try though, and thereby you will always miss out on their maximum potential until you learn how to set them up properly.

My concern isn't the difference in time directly, it's the difference between another person and I when it comes to cornering. I know my cornering isn't great, but at the same time I don't know what other people are doing that's getting them those times.

In any case, share your tune set up if you still remember them, then I'll go and try it out myself to see if I can match that time.

I posted my fast lap in the trailer cam to show my lines.

When I start a combo I look at the track as to, is it rough? Are the jumps big? Are we running on tarmac, dirt or snow? Am I reved out during the lap or do I have revs left? I always go for the obvious and then I adjust acordingly.

My experience w/ F1 2010 tells me what I'm looking at when I go to size up Codys setup. They always set the car up ahead of time to fit the majority of drivers, that is why the setup shows a straight line in the defalt position, then I adjust for my criteria mentiond above.

The gearing will always be set by Codys for the track of choice and never rev out but if the track only has one straight that could pound the redline and it is filled w/ tons of turns then I give up the revlimiter for a short period at the end of the longest straight then I lower the gearing so that I am a rocket through 99% of the track.

If the track is rough then I might not tighten up the shocks or maybe just one click.
If the track has big jumps then I might not lower the ride hight or just one click lower
If the track is tarmac and I'm loose at high speed I'll crank up the Down Force
If the track is dirt then I'll relax the DF and just throw it in a little earlier
If the track is snow the I don't touch the DF

I just use common sence, I hope that helps a little to understand my aproach, It's all cause and effect w/ Codys. They pretty much do all the work ahead of time and then the drivers just trim for effect :)

Well that for the most part I already knew.... I was talking more like setups one goes through for corners in general or specific ones, how fast one can (or has) travel(led) through a turn, is there throttle control while cornering or is it just stepping on it most of the time... stuff like that.

For instance with the Smelter Dredger loop. The section where you cross under the bridge, it's a wide hairpin. How fast have you been able to get out of it? I've managed to exit that at around 90km/h iirc.

Citroen C4 WRC 1:18.948

I usually downshift about right before the turn as it seems to make the car turn a little better. Then depending on the corner I either coast to about half way through then hammer it out with a wide line or feather the throttle a little and try to keep a some what tight line.

My setup was:
Gear Ratio 2
Downforce 3
Suspension 1
Ride Height 3
Differential 4
Brake Bias 5

I took the C4 for a spin with no setup, managed to get around the corner a little better ultimately shaving off another fraction of a second but still stuck at 1:20 never the less. My driving is still not good enough yet.

Anyway, new event up.

Would anyone like to take over my position in the future?

Ford Fiesta Open 1:52.601

Stock setup other than the gear ratio being one notch down.

Probably could shave a bit more time off since I can get a good run going for a bit, but always end up making a mistake towards the end. :(

On a side note I was able to download the WR ghost once again.

very nice there Wilk 👍 It's kind of hard to be perfect for almost 2 min.

Can you tell if the WR ghost is cutting the track anywhere? He gets away from me near the end :(

------------------------- UPDATE -------------------------

I gave her another "what fer" and came up w/ this 1:52.236 in the Ford Fiesta Open and here is the sector on vid :)

New Time

Ford Fiesta Open 1:50.441

Using the same setup as before, but with the differential and brake bias all the way to the right. To me it seems by doing this the car isn't as tail happy as the stock setup.

I might be able to shave a tiny bit more off this time, but after about a hour of trying I am pretty sure this will be as fast as I'm going to get.

WOW Wilk, just amazing, I was able to squize out some more time trying to catch your 151.3 only to get within 2 tenths when you loped off another second and I'm in 10th :banghead:

Would you guys mind if I extended this for another day?

I'm also thinking of dropping the EOTW when school starts (in 2 weeks). Does anyone want to take over?

Good luck "AOS" in the upcomming school year and it's the same w/ me on the spare time deal, I can't take on anymore responsibility so I won't be able to take it over :(

In that case I'm going to close this right here and now.

Sorry to whomever wanted more EOTW. Run your own if you want to compete still.
