Each and every event begins on Tuesday 12:00pm EST... and being a weekly thing, that obviously means every event ends the next following Tuesday 11:59pm EST....

I've posted this week's event last week, but only one person posted a time so far, so that explains why this thread hasn't received a lot of attention.

yep, i wish dirt was getting more love on these forums, most of the comps are dead...it seems like not enough people know how good of a game it is

I'm trying to set a time now. I almost broke into the 1:41's, but one of the opponents blocked me just before I crossed the line which cost me about 1/10th of a second.

Okay, I just managed a time of 1:41.858 using the Peugeot 207.

Yah Wiegert you and AOS are perdy darn fast. I hope you both can make a showing for my compo in a week or so. I'd love to fly the corse w/ some certified smokerz and not have to worry about some butt wipe blasting me off the track because they can't pass me honestly. My stuff is just low key and when I was promoting my F1 events everyone always came away from them w/ positive reviews.

Dammit Wiegert, it takes you like half the time it takes me to set similar times... I've spent over 2 hours setting that time, experimenting how I can tackle each corner, trying all cars... then here comes Wiegert with a "oh here's my attempt, did it in no time"

What?! It took me more than two hours to get that time, and don't think it was all just plain sailing for me either

Anyway, I struggled to get the most out of the Peugeot in the first hour, so I tried the Abarth a few times, but I found that it was actually much slower than the 207. Then I switched back to the 207, spent another hour trying to nail every corner on the stage (two corners in particular), and I managed to do it in the end. During my previous attempts, I had to put up with the same opponent repeatedly blocking me on the last corner which was frustrating. This stage may be short compared to most other stages, but it's still very tough to get a fast time on it.

Also, I had no idea what the best setup was because my stage times were virtually the same no matter what setup I chose. All I did for my best run was set the downforce to max, shorten the gear ratios, and moved the brake bias to the front.

The one hairpin going up the hill and turning around the rocks I felt could be taken the fastest if I had swung the car into a drift, but I ended up just tapping e-brake to get into the angle I wanted.

How do you guys feel If we weren't allowed to tune our cars? We'd be getting more consistent times and a more accurate comparison of skill, wouldn't we? Anyone up for it?

I'd be willing to try it out in the next event, so yeah. I reckon it could throw up some interesting results.

Well if enough people agree, I can make it a written rule starting next week.

For now, we've got this event to do.

I'm fine with having to run stock setups.

Here is my time for the Gymkhana Sprint. I also used the stock setup for this time.

Man I don't know about this goofy stunt junk. It makes me think of eating candy for breakfast lunch and dinner. I'll give it a try but I may have trouble seeing after this w/ all the blood squirting out of my eyes.

This isn't working for me ....... I'll try on the next one

I was wondering if using my wheel is just to slow vs the DS3 to be competitive in the stunt junk?

I just tried to follow the WR... that is all. I have terrible control of any car in this game anyway..

Oh well I'll just wait to see what next weeks adventure looks like. I don't like running a race like I'm continuesly threding a needle. This junk is ok but I feel to confined by the narrow path at the begining and then when it says to do a donut and the WR guy didn't, what am I supose to take away from that but WTF. I just want to twist the wheel into a pretzel.

Just describing it inferiorates me :banghead:

It's not event about performing it properly, it's about find the method that takes the least amount of time for the game to accept... the WR's way is super fast because he got really close to the oil drums and got insane angle on it...

Trying to mimic that was difficult for me, simply because I struggled to get that same setup.

Yah thats what Little Lefty was trying to tell me and it didn't make any sence. It just looks like he uses the 3 turn cans as a turn marker but doesn't do a donut.

So is he backing it in and when he starts to hook up that is the from point in the donut? Then what he gets enough of a circle completed on exit that the game thinks he did a complete circle?

Whats the deal w/ the 3 triangles for the turn cans? How many do I have to light up, 2 or 3?

You need the triangle entirely lit up for donuts... He just gets real close with a huge angle. You'll likely need to do about 3/5th of a full orbit for it to count, like I did.

Nooooo! What's your success rate at connecting the 2 corners after the jump in one drift?

...I struggled to get that same setup.

The set up I use for most gymkhana involves a strong(est) dif and shortest ratios, the combination of which means you have power to rotate the car at all speeds it's needed. Then it's a case of adding high downforce for time based events, not entirely sure about score based (I use lowest though on score and free run as it feels best to me in terms of fun).

To be more specific, I gave this combo a go last night for 20 mins or so to record it and ran 1 stiffer with 1 lower then default, along with the aforementioned in the paragraph above. and followed the WR ghost as best I could (was actually ahead on some attempts coming through the fence but soon fell behind). All in all it ended up in a 39.686 by the end of my short session which I was perfect happy with for my video.

Wow, we got destroyed, Wilk...

We sure did lol. I tried following the WR lap, but can't pull off the donuts like they do. I've gotten close a few times, but can't string together a good run.

Wow, we got destroyed, Wilk...

I didn't mean to enter , I posted a vid of my run in the video thread though. I would honestly say it isn't a 'legit' run because as you will have seen from the WR ghost and my video the donuts just aren't full but unfortunately that's the way to get the best TT times on this.

If the game says yes, it's legit... mine wasn't a full donut either... the last one always ends up being at most a 3/4 donut.. :p

I don't mean not legitimate in the sense that I would disqualify myself, more in the sense that I don't think it's the way Codies intended these events to be done and it's not the most enjoyable way either. I would suggest in future using the gated events for gymkhana based TTs, they seem to offer no real shortcuts.

Well the thing already exists and if someone can do it, so can you.. I could start making up rules not enforced by the game, but then why should one follow it, or how would I know someone was or wasn't using a shorter method (like wall riding or half donuts)? If I don't make such rules, I won't run into this sort of problem. If using said methods are required to beat someone else's time for this EOTW, then why should it be banned? No one is physically restricted from doing, therefore anyone can do it, and thus by not doing it, that person simply chose not to.

Just my 2 cents on the whole thing.
