Disable online pop ups?

Is there a way to completely disable the online chat from popping up. I find it very annoying when I am turning into a left hand corners. I am surprised that GT5 doesn't have a way to disable them (at least to my knowledge).

Tonight is about the tenth time I have spun out mid race due to some pointless message coming up telling me who just joined the room.

Please help. This is getting very old very fast.

What camera are you using? I use bumper or cockpit and have never had an issue with being distracted by the semitransparent window.

nah, it shows up in bumper cam too, pisses me off aswell
