disappearing cars?

Hey, I just got Vice City the other day (yay) and anyway, I was playing and I had parked a Bobcat and Rancher in one of my garages (one of the two car ones) at the hotel you can buy up on north end of the second island and I drove by in a new car and that door opened and I was like wtf? and the Bobcat is gone! I never took it out. Has anyone had one just disappear outta their garage like that?
 
Thats the hyman condo and it is notorious for eating cars...don't put any valuable ones in there (ones you can't easily replace).

If you ever die or get busted with a garage door open they can disapear also.

Yeah, I used to always store my good cars in (ie love fist limo, lightless cabs) there untill i found that out...,they never dissapearred from there untill i found it out though...strange, lol.
 
LoL. well I lost the Love Fist limo... oh well, I didn't care about it THAT much.. I was just lazy and drove it back instead of gettin another car and stuck it in the garage cuz I kinda like foolin with the limos but yeah. All I lost was a bobcat and that.
 
Tuff break the 3 of you, i've never lost anything in there. I got all of my FBI Ranchers, Cheetah 2s, and Enforcers, and Police. None have disappeared. Wait nevermind I lost one of my 2 FBI Ranchers. but that was minor, the more the carnage and FBI Ranchers the better.:)
 
In one of my game saves I recently I found out I had both the Hearse and the Love Fist limo at the Hyman condos, oddily enough I got to the full 100% without them dissapearing. I inmediately relocated them both to Sunshine Autos, I've never had anything go wrong with those garages.
One car I have seen dissapear a number of times, and has hurt me to lose, was the white Admiral you get after the "Guardian Angels" mission. Out of my 8 games I think I only have like 2. One for sure.
 
how late in the game is that mission? lookin forward to that car then ;)

is it safe to save cars at the versetti (sp?) estate or does it have a snack now and then too?

OK so it's bulletproof, fireproof, ep?, dp?, the only white admiral. But there has to be a catch. Isn't if you put it in your garage all of that specialty protection vanish into oblivion?

I wouldn't trust the Sunshine Autos garage either. It ate my Romero's Hearse. I had it and the Lovefist Limo in the same garage at Sunshine Autos and it dissappeared. A guy on another forum said he had the same thing happen to him also.

So beware the garages at Sunshine Autos!

I've never lost any of my valuable cars. The only car I'm really worried about losing is my original Romero's Herse. I can get the Lovefist limo whenever I want since I have the PC version. :D

Nope. It lives on! You can even drive it into Rhinos.

Sunshine Autos remains stable with up to four cars per garage (16 total). As soon as you try to shove any more in there, they'll start randomly vanishing.

EP = Explosion Proof (Rocket Launchers won't do anything)
DP = Damage Proof (It doesn't get dented or start smoking.
The only way to destroy it is to flip it onto its roof.
And you can save it and it will last forever!
 
Yeah, wish you could keep that...Oh well you don't really need it for anything other than that mission.

Actually I'm pretty sure one of mine explodinated once when I was tearing ass while on a 6-star-rampage, I rounded a corner somewhere and saw a Rhino heading my way, I only thought "bring it on!" and floored it heading towards the tank, next thing I know the camera was hovering above my blown-up car... :odd:
I have to check again though.

One thing I'm positive it's not safe of is spike strips, or lucky cops who accidentally blow your tires when they shoot you. But at least that you can fix by heading into your nearest Pay N' Spray, and it'll still keep it's 'fireproof', etc. capabilities, you just won't see it in it's silvery white color ever again.
 
No, it isn't. And I was right about it not being strong enough to take on a Rhino either. You might want to double-check on that, Famine, before you go play 'chicken' with some army dudes. :D
For the record, I checked it out by slamming into a Rhino, I didn't really try moderate bumping and banging. Maybe it's only the big hits that'll destroy it, I dunno.
 
I've noticed also that sometimes when Barracks OL ram into Rhinos during a 6 star wanted level they don't blow up, just bounce of of the tank...

nah it aint, greediness drives me to puttin tonnes of motorcycles in with me cars as well as stuffing five vehicles in each of the garages at sunshine autos. one day i got a sixth one in and voila 2 ranchers, sanchez and tank went missing wen i tried to get back in a minute l8r.

Actually its only safe to use the garages when u abide by the rules allocated to them (i.e two cars go into a two car garage blah blah) xception is Hyman condo
 
So which garage eats the cars in Sunshine Autos? And which garage eats cars in Hyman Condo? So far, I've stored 2 cars per garage in Sunshine Autos and nothing happened yet. Maybe they fixed up that glitch in the Double Pack version.
 
The leftmost garage in Sunshine Autos ate my Romero's Hearse when there was only it and my Lovefist Limo in it. As I said before, a guy an another forum said the exact same thing happened to him, so it may just be a glitch with those exact cars in that garage.

the hyman condo ate 4 fbi ranchers. at once. I stole them all fair n square. grr. (then I started to cheat:D )
 
Since there a three garages in Hyman Condo, does each garage store two cars?

The one to the west of the save tape can store 4 (but it is glitched and eats cars) the two the east of the save tape store 2 and I'm almost certain they don't get hungry...:D
