disc gone bad?

Ok so i found a tutorial on how to fix it but i cant seem to fully understand it.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago , i deleted all of the update data and didnt get any time to install them again untill yesterday i installed all of the updates again thinking this issue would be fixed by now but still same problem.

Ok so this :

1. Downgrade to 2.09 – go to the Game Data Utility and select GT5, hit triangle, select delete in the right-hand side menu. You now have to re-install updates to get you back to version 2.09.

How do they mean downgrade to 2.09? by deleting game data? if i delete it i will have to install ALL of the updates again which will lead me to update 2.10 and i will be back to square one.

Second what do they mean by this ?

2. You need to find your ghost cars; the cars cannot be chosen, driven, sold or deleted; this does not include DLC cars. When you’ve found them proceed to the next step.

What exactly are my ghost cars? and where & how do i find them?

I will be thankfull for help as i want to play online badly

Seems to be a problem with my save data. The new update is not accepting my old save data.

I made a new account on my PS3 with no save or anything and it seems to go further but gets stuck at the GT5 logo loading.

Ok now :

I have deleted game data , when i launch the game it asks me if i want to update if i decline the screen just goes blank.

So now i am installing first 608mb update to see if it gets fixed

Which is a pain because 2.10 is only some 50MB patch and will finish downloading very quick if you don't spend attention for a moment...

You will find your ghost cars in your garage. Just browse through and you'll spot cars with a yellow exclamation mark easily.

Ok , first update is downloading right now.
 
My GT5 is not loading.

I launch the game , it asks me for update i press circle (no) then it asks me for Data package of 8gb again i press no , then it asks me for PSN sign in again i select no.

After that there no intro or anything , there is a huge black screen and on the bottom right corner there is a GT5 logo

Does anyone here know what the problem can be?

This is where the game is getting stuck , doesnt even show the intro video just goes to this.

Try starting the game without an internet connection. Actually physically disconnect, it sometimes helps loading issues.

Tried that just now. Didnt make any difference

I think my GT5 disc has been corrupted or something but there are no scratches or anything on the disc

I have installed the 2.10 update now and still same problem stuck at that logo. when i had this update last time it went into the saving data loop but now it doesnt even do that

What you need to do is this....

3. Exit game and go to your Internet settings and disable your Internet connection on your ps3 then start again and it should load

4. then go try to your GT life Page and look at design settings and the background picture of your GT life screen set it to one of the first ones

Thats exactly what i did , i tested the game after every update installed even 2.09 and it didnt work , then i thought maybe if i update to 2.10 now it will work but it didnt
 
Do you know anyone else who has a PS3 that does NOT have GT5? You could try installing the game on their PS3 and see if it does the same or not.

Also, have you tried running the game under a different PS3 profile with a new game save? Does it still not load up then?

Actually i have one ps3 coming in the mail tomorrow so will check on that.

Alright , just tried the disc on a brand spanking new ps3 , still the same issue but here it wont show anything at all on the screen after the game is loaded
 
Yeah it's your disc then mate. Good opportunity to pick up Academy Edition 👍
