Damn, i will have to wait then, but please when the DLC is out, it would be great if anyone tried this and post here, will be waiting

Different dlc may work differently.
I have 2 asian and 1 us psn account.
When I bought the collector pack, I got the chromelines and stealth in all 3 accounts (including the us acct) using Asia gt5 disc. The gt5 Asia edition I use is not even from the collector pack.
When I play dragon age 2, I redeem the signature codes on my us psn and played with the dlc in place using my Asian psn but using the us disc. For those who think it is a breach of protocol, I am told personally by psn support themselves to create the us account. go figure..... So yes, the region of the disc is the key. Not the psn account region.

As posted earlier
New GT5 content IS PSN ID locked. As the preview on this site allready showed.
After GT5 installs the data only the save game is altered.
You have 15 car tickets waiting in car delivery.

(out NOW in EU and Asia.)

Only buy it on the PSN ID you wish to play it on..

I play my Japan disc with my Hong Kong account.

Would buying the DLC from Hong Kong PSN store work?

Or the only way is to buy it from Japan PSN and play my Japan disc on a Japan account?

If PD had used the Store installer instead of there own installer (the same as HOME does)
you would not have had this problem

But because PD is using the service system on the store that alters PSN ID data not Game data you have to go through this..

Question - looking at the instructions in the picture - if i download it from the us store - it is now on my system, but not yet activated/ installed - can i then go to my AU account and then install it e.g., step two? I have a US disc.

If u r like me, I bought my Asia region (region 3) GT5 that is made in Japan then it is going to work. The collector pack's GT5 disc subsequently is made in Hong Kong but the codes works on my original disc.

Not sure if there's a disc specific to japan.

My question is similar, disk is from Hong Kong, while my PSN account is Indian. However, both are Region 3, so should the Indian PSN DLC work on the disk?

I am going to buy the DLC later tonight. That should answer some questions. I'll try it in both my GT5 discs (one from Japan, collector disc from Hong Kong). Don't have the US one to try unless someone in Singapore passes me one to try (maybe Calamari?)

same kinda question.
Hong Kong psn with canadian disc, what should i do to get the dlc from asia psn to appear on my canadian disc?
thanks in advance

You can't wrong region DLC will not be fixed.
DLC will remain permanently region locked and has been from day 1.

Region of the DLC MUST match region of BD.
You will have to wait till December to buy the multi user license pack on USA/Canada account.

Sony does not block importing but they have allways said there are RISKs if you do..

Untill December .
PSN ID, DLC and BD region MUST BE the same to install DLC, its then locked to that single PSN ID

Thanks,
I've looked through this thread and some say I could make a new (us/canada) account on my ps3 and purchase dlc through that account, and when I switch back to play on my asia account, which is my primary, the dlc should be there too
has anyone confirmed this yet? region lock is freaking retard not only on gt5 but also on many other games I'm playing...

Again NO that does not work till December.
Every thing MUST be the same region and the addon content is LOCKED to the PSN ID that PAID for It.

I am new to GT5 and i have the collectors edition - EU region
however my PS3 is US
my PSN account isUS

1)After reading the threads it looks like I will need to create a EU PSN account and buy the DLC pack through that? - can someone please confirm if this is correct ?this should work eventhough I have a US PS3?
2)what am i loosing doing this?I presume it means I need to play GT5 through my new log in created for the EU PSN store to race on the SPA DLC track?(my main reason for getting the DLC) - will I need to download the patch2.0 again?will i still see all my collectors edition content in the EU log in? (I have been playing up till now and installing updates on my US log in) - will I lose all my unlocked tracks (like top gear) when I am playing through my EU log in?
3)Is a solution to all this buying a US copy of the game - or will I still need to unlock all the tracks again?

If your disc is EU, you'll need EU PSN Store content which means an EU account, yes.

You will have to start an wholly new game to do this. Your Collector's Edition content should automatically be added to any new save, regardless of region.

Two points though. You can race Spa-Francorchamps any time on any account, by joining an online room with that track selected - DLC merely unlocks access for you, the track is already in your game data. The second point is that if you wait until December, DLC will be modified so that it will also automatically transfer to any account on your machine. This means you can create an EU account, download the EU DLC and have it automatically added to your US account.

3)Is a solution to all this buying a US copy of the game - or will I still need to unlock all the tracks again?

I'm not sure whether that will work - you may end up needing to create a new save with a new disc. I haven't tested it, but it was the case with Prologue. But if you wait until December, you're fine anyway.

Many thanks for the answer
1)Just to make sure I understand what your saying - if I was to buy the DLC content now on my US PSN account for my EU version of GT5 it will not show up now or work until this new patch is released in december? at which time it should appear in game for me to download/unlock?
2)If I try and race online now some of the servers will be running this track and I can just join in? - do I need access to a particular car?
3)Completely off topic - but I am very interested to try any of the F1 Ferrari cars that I know are available in GT5 - Do I need to unlock them in game or can I just buy them when I have accumulated enough credit or using PSN credits - or can you race them immediately online similar to the Spa track - (I have also read about a similar formula GT single seat race car but again unsure how I can unlock) - I am aware of the GT prologue cheat that lets you race the F1 cars but I am talking about the full GT5 game

No, that won't work at all. The DLC region must match the disc region. You have an EU disc so you must download the content from the EU PSN Store which requires an EU PSN account.

What will change in December is that it will be distributed to all other accounts with a GT5 save (presumably of any region, as is the case with Chromeline/Stealth cars) on your console.

2)If I try and race online now some of the servers will be running this track and I can just join in? - do I need access to a particular car?

Yes, you can just join. No you don't need any particular car, so long as whatever car you have fits whatever restrictions the room host has decided upon.

Cars are not "unlocked" in main GT games. You must acquire enough in-game credits to buy them. GT5 has an extra requirement that you must also be the appropriate level (in either A-Spec or B-Spec) to buy them, but by the time you have the 12,500,000 credits required you'll probably be the right level (24) in any case.

The two Ferrari F1 cars cannot be raced in any part of the offline portion of the game and may be specifically excluded from online rooms. This is a common, expensive error for players.

Final questrion as I am just buying the DLC now.
Have created a new user, and selected UK for the region of the store when I first logged in do I also need to create a new UK region PSN account for this to work?

and I have actually restarted the game :(
main acc 550 cars, 36 a spec, 39 b spec
now 200 cars 28 A spec, 34 B spec
