Playing much online and from spec II (sry was a late owner) to III i'm stilll have my doubts about the lap times given in online and freerun mode.

Example:

HSR Spec II
Freerun: 1.03.xxx
Online: 1.05.xxx+
Halfway down the race the rest of the field seems to get an power boost!

Suzuka Spec III
Freerun: 2.03.xxx
Online: 2.06.xxx
Haven't noticed speedboost as it's harder to notice then in HSR.

This is always happening, freerun and online has 2sec+ difference.

If this is an realistic game/demo i would like an explanation what is happening here!

If everyone keeps an eye on the times they would notice the same thing and it's wrong there is to much difference in times!

Not realistic and not good imo.

If i get 2.03.xxx in freerun i must can have it also in online but this happends 1 out of 10 most of the races and is far away from freerun

Should online be faster due to

EBM and draft?

Spec II HSR
Online 1:01
Offline Late 1:02
Suzuka
Offline 1:58
Online 1:57

Spec III
Ferrari Suzuka
2:05 Online
2:06 Offline.

Online is faster depending where you are from the EBM... :grumpy:

EBM?

Strange that you have near exact lap times on and offline.
Friend of mine encountered the same thing , 2 sec off.

The effect is technically called catch up logic. In the old days when games were rubbish programmers used to use this technique to make sure races where close by speeding up cars that were falling behind and slowing the leading cars. GTP online is mostly rubbish so they included this. Its a joke.

Yep it gives the people behing more speed and grip than being first.

If you are first and you have lapped someone your in trouble. Oh when you go ghost you can probably do a 1:00 at HSR

HSR 800PP Spec II
Time at 1st place
1:03-1:05
4th-6th 1:01-1:03

This system is a joke but hopefully when private rooms can turn it off or on

The reason my times are nearly the same is because those are my best times. Averages should be 1 or 2 seconds added

same here at HSR. i raced alot on the HSR. you probably remember me Fujiwara. where some great races 👍

my avarage time offline was consistently 1:03 some 1:02 and online my laps where beteween 1:01 and 1:05.

come on PD fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this in a Ferrari? You're flying in free run if it is. And I don't know how you guys get 2.06 online, which position are you in? If I'm leading I struggle to break 2.10 :/

Yes the Boost system commonly know as the Rubber band effect (RBE) needs to go, I hope it gets removed when the Private race rooms come in. It's just not realistic and that is the reason it MUST go.
GT as a driving simulator does not suit RBE that is for sure.

I also noticed that if there are <6 players inrace, the negative effect is permanent, a.k.a. nobody can get decent laptimes, even when at the back.

That seems to be different to what i've noticed. From my experiences, less people in the race = less RBE & correct lap times, ie i can set lap times close to what i can do in free fun. With a full grid though, its often way off that. And it also seems to be variable. Usually how it works is that the further you are in front, the more it affects you, yet i remember doing a race back at suzuka 750pp, with just myself & 3 other cars. I won the race by 1 min 30 seconds, all my laps were just as fast as free run, i had lapped 2 of the 3 cars & my overall time was 9:49 when normally i was around 10-10:10ish. So who knows lol, all i know for sure is that it must go because it ruins everyone's races :grumpy:

Had some races on 800PP Fuji last night with hyper < 6 players. Nobody could get laptimes lower than 1'40.xxx. Later races > 6 players, laptimes dropped by two seconds. Free run I can get 1'36 - 1'35.

You're right, it has to go. 👍

What I noticed is that when you are dead last (over 30 seconds from the guy in first place I guess) you run a lot faster. For example at Fuji, I rarely go below a 1:36.xxx when I'm in first place, while when I am behind I always end up nailing 2-3 runs in a row in the 1:32.xxx range. Kind of bull**** if you ask me.

Is there any problem like this with the arcade online time trial?

Yep HSR was great. Awsome passing through wide corners and drifting the turns to annoy, it was great. Plus I was one of the better ones unlike me in places like Suz and Fuji

Also it gave me lotsa money...

C'mon PD HSR again!

Arcade Im not sure it might but I havent really noticed.

But Time Trials should not have any due to no other cars.
