Wanted to say thanks to PTG Ty1er Ward for the great mode idea. I've tried all the mods suggested (thanks to all) but this gives the brakes that "real" feel.

Nice job pop riveting seems like a much better idea, could see screws working loose over time especially in plastic.đź‘Ť This is very tempting I'm just a little nervous warranty wise if the wheel needed to go back.:nervous: Anyone sourced the springs in the UK?:)

Edit: Found on Ebay shipped from the States were looking at around ÂŁ23...... decision time:boggled:

How does it feel, describe without being bias.. please and thanks in advanced

It feels more like a car's brake pedal. It gives good smooth progressive resistance as i depress the pedal and I don't tend to "lock up" as I did when using the foam golf ball or dry wall sanding block. When I lift off, the pedal return feels more natural under my foot. It's made it a lot easier to guage the cars momentum setting up for the apex.

I hope this helps to answer your question. If I was a more experienced sim driver I could probably explain it better.

I am liking the RC car shock idea.. My T300 is on order and will be here next week. I won't mod the pedals right away except for shoving foam behind the brake pedal like on my DFGT for awhile.

I might have some RC shocks in the garage but I don't want to spend $25-$30 on them when the T3PA pedals are $89-$100, I would just put the money towards them. - Very slick though, wish I would have seen that sooner. Going to test with my DFGT pedal base first if I find any RC shocks.

Edit - Question - for those who used the chocolate square and felt pad mod, are you able to press the bake down all the way, full throw?

Here's a little bump.

I finally gave up with the spongy felt pads and bought the rubber ones I mentioned in an earlier post:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00856PCC2/?tag=gtplanetuk-20

They don't work well with the bigger chocolate squares but they do with the smaller ones (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H8UTNY4/?tag=gtplanetuk-20) because they can dig better into the rubber pads. I've put the rubber pad on the base and the chocolate square on the pedal so it doesn't fall.

The only issue I need to sort out for now is the fact that the chocolate square tends to slide further up the pedal after a while. For now I want to avoid using superglue as it discolours the plastic.

Any idea what kind of plastic the pedals are made of? I am trying to find out as I will be doing this mod eventually and depending on the type of plastic, we can find a safe glue.. my first thought was ca+ but I remember it discolored some RC car plastics I had used it on in the past.

I don't know.

Note that by adding a 2nd spongy pad further up the back of the pedal, the chocolate square has pretty much stopped moving about and I'm getting a good brake feel for a lot longer. It doesn't look fantastic and an engineer would be annoyed but it does the job for not much money.

Tried a stess ball and that worked, but I was unable to apply the correct amount of brake even when I was pushing hard on the brake pedal.

Having looked around in different shops in the UK, I came across this.

Put one of the pads on the accelerator to stop the plastic noise and attached the other to my T300RS pedals. It has made a big difference with my driving style.

was putting in 1:33:58 at Melbourne in F1 2015 with Kimi, installed this felt pad and now can do 1:30:25.

Its a lot more easier to be consistent with times and braking. With these pads the brakes don't lock up with small pressure, but if I add more pressure I can still lock the brakes, so the challenge is still there.
