What do you reckon the chances are of having DLC/game updates that add events to the game?

I've noticed a few threads about people being disappointed with the lack of events which I agree with totally (I started one of them).

It would be great to know that more events are on the way, so we can be content with finishing what we've got at the moment, and getting ready for the next batch!

Well, we had one patch that added online multiplayer.

Another patch that added mechanical damage.

Who knows what's next?

I hope online credits and xp are next. We need them.
Also leaderboards and not just for stock car time trials but for tuned cars and hopefully allowing us to post times while racing and earning credits.

Additional events would also be cool, especially if they have some cool prize cars but the online stuff is more important at present.

I would say purely from a commercial opportunity perspective its pretty much 100% there will be more content added via DLC. But expect to pay for it.

I dont think we will see a car here and a car there, think in terms of expansion packs, like you get with MMO games where by a DLC pack will contain a new level of the game like Beginner, Amateur etc, the ability to level up higher, from 40 to 50 for example, possibly a new track or two and maybe the odd car in one downloadable chunk.

This is just my speculation of course, but it would make sense commercially for PD to do this right up until the release of GT6. Software houses usually take on this task by expanding the development team with new blood but leaving a few key players to direct them to develop the expansion content, whilst the old dev team who built the game move on to the next iteration... GT6. There is no reason why it wouldnt work the same at PD, it makes sense and would be a huge commercial waste for them to not exploit DLC.

The main thing you have to ask yourself is why does the level cap at 40? That alone suggests to me there will be further expansions that will allow you to level higher.

Again look at MMOs like WoW... original level cap was 60, then 70 with an expac, then 80, now 85.

Again, pure speculation but to me, everything points to paid for DLC and personally, I'm happy to pay for game expansion
