Just called tech support and the news is not that good. Had to delete the saved game file and do a full reinstall including all the updates, hour and a halfs worth, then hopefully all the DLC will be there to reinstall too (thats the theory).
Let me know how you get on FlyingFox... I also have this issue. Cars and tracks suddenly became unavailable! I'm going to try the family pack quick fix but would be interested to see if you uninstall and reinstall works.
When you say you deleted your saved game file, did you mean game date file? Don't fancy deleting my saved data!
I don't think this warrants a new thread since it falls under the same DLC issues... I just bought the, Speed Test Pack (Game Pack) £3.19. Sadly I can't download it. When I go into GT5 it's not in the DLC list but when I go back into the PSN store to click the download button, it tells me I've already purchased this with a message telling me to press the download button. I can't get any further forward.

So deleted the game data file reinstalled the game and updates and.........no joy.
I’m still having the same issues except this time I found out that the track pack was also missing and the thumbnails of the cars have altered too. Some don’t show up at all, those that do have the paint work from dealership or gifted colours, but click on them and they are the colours that I have repainted them. Bizarre!!
Spoke to yet another tech who told me how to look for corrupt data in the PS3 which I did and found some. Didn’t tell me what or where the corrupt data was just tried to fix it, which it didn’t.
So I have to reinstall the game AGAIN and try that, but in the meantime a ticket has been raised and it’s been passed on to another team who will investigate further.

To repair the missing and incorrect thumbnails, select the car and press the triangle button. Choose create thumbnail and it will be fixed. There is also the option to create all thumbnails for all the cars but if you have a lot of cars this can take a long time to finish.
