Yes it does. Dirty air can be dangerous because you have to adjust your braking point.

Everything that has been mentioned here and more. Set the turbo boost too high and you will blow the engine in the race. Hit other objects, and this will happen:

And FYI - This kind of mistake/damage also happens between AI drivers.

does this affect the cars in free practice? I cant seem to be affected. I have everything turned to realistic.
