That's what I thought too.

But who's got the balls to pull that kind of stuff on a bunch of cops. Even when you're drunk.
I would think that course of action with the police would just lead you into deeper trouble regardless of the law.

Needless to say, if you are caught driving under the influence no matter what your BAC is, you're screwed!

I've done some stunner one lap wonders under the influence - but in races longer than 3 laps, no hope. The highlight was a license test I did in the first week of owning GT3 I did hammered that I couldn't get near sober for 15 months.

That said - don't drive your car if you think you're affected by alcohol. If YOU think you're affected, then you're worse than you thought.

I would support a zero blood alcohol content driving law. Look the stats up some time.

That's what cops are counting on, though. Most of them just love intimidating people. Every Cops episode I've seen has some poor bastard who gets pulled over for speeding then starts acting twitchy and the cop finds some weed in the trunk and then they're getting hauled away. All they had to do is say no.

My brother got stopped, searched, and had his whole car torn apart a couple times when all they ended up charging him with was having window tint that was too dark. Supposedly they were looking for someone in a car like his who did something bad.

Here's another statement from an attorney that everybody should read:

If a police officer stops me and wants to search my car, do I have to let him?
A police officer's search of your car is a serious invasion of your privacy. That is why the law prevents the police from merely stopping cars and searching for contraband or evidence of a crime. You always have a right to refuse a police officer's request to search your vehicle, home, or person. But, if an officer has probable cause to believe that you are carrying contraband in your car, he can still search your car. Likewise, if an officer stops you for a traffic violation, he may be able to search your person and the interior of the car to check for weapons that may be a danger to his safety. Sometimes, an officer will stop someone for a minor traffic violation and ask permission to search the entire vehicle, although he does not otherwise have lawful grounds for doing so. If you consent to the search in such a situation, the police officer would be allowed to use any evidence or contraband he found in the vehicle against you in court. On the other hand, if you do not consent and the officer searches your person or vehicle without lawful authority, then any evidence that he obtains would not be admitted into evidence in court.
