The Pacific NW would be a good location (and I’m not just saying that because I live here.) It has the only temperate rain forest in the lower 48 on the west coast. Two major mountain chains, the Olympics and the Cascades. Five active volcanos, including the largest, Mt. Rainier at 14,410 ft/4,392 meters. A natural shortgrass prairie in the southeast. The Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, major cities, vast evergreen forests, apple orchards that supply 60% of all apples in the US, the Channeled Scablands in the central part of the state, created by more than 40 catastrophic floods at the end of the last ice age that scoured away almost all topsoil in the region, the Okanogan highlands in the northeast, and major rivers like the Snake and Columbia.
You know, now that you mention it, it'd actually be a pretty good location (and not just because I also live here lol). There's towns in Eastern Washington that are reminiscent of the town in FH1 that seem like something folks who long for a return to Colorado would appreciate.

I want to say China but that is highly unlikely.

Malaysia could be nice with the layered highways and one hillclimb highway at Genting.

I got Japan, I don't need another FH.

I would love to vote Germany but I'm not seeing it in the poll. Central Europe is missing completely.

Full scale nordschleife in the map, using the time attack technology they have in fh6. They can then build a lot of map inside the track (IRL there are a few villages there). it could include things like the AMUS circuit, autobahn and other car and motorsport related places from Germany.

Isn't this just Assetto Corsa Evo?

We Evo early players be like...

Anyways, I would vote to return to Mediterranean France/Northern Italy and include Switzerland.

As well as being a good reason for adding or reinstating some sadly missed Renault/Citroën/Peugeot/Bugatti models another French Horizon would be a great excuse to put some Cortex on the soundtrack.

Bern is around thirty miles from the Switzerland/Bern border so there'd go my hope of an Alpine track.

I guess, as long as they deliver on their promises. I know the FH's model works, but AC's approach is still unproven.

I figure either Germany for The Autobahn, The Nürburgring, Volkswagen Group, Mercedes-Benz Group and BMW... or The United States of America with a couple locations... A return to Colorado (FH1) but with a lot more area and detail... California (varied weather from N to S), circuit and road course tracks, great switchback roads... was thinking FL, but with GTA 6 in a fictional version, can only imagine the amount of comparisons

One thing that you can be sure of, is if they do Germany, the Nurburgring won't be there, not sure why people think it would be. Just isn't in the Horizon MO.

If they do Germany, it'll be part of a multi-country thing akin to FH2. I imagine Germany, Austria and Czechia, with Munich, Salzburg and Plzen forming the 3 pillars of the map. Mountains, forests, river valleys, 3 urban areas, countryside aplenty plus autobahn. A scaled down version of this:

Otherwise I could see something like Texas, USA. Can do coastline, densely populated areas, open desert, Houston, Dallas, Amarillo or something.

There would be 2 main reasons for including Amarillo on a FH7 map:
1. It's on Route 66
2. Just outside the city is Cadillac Ranch

And 3. The song...

Random fact - it actually WAS a Texas Sunday morning when we drove out of Amarillo.

Personally, in my opinion somewhere like New Mexico/Arizona might work better than Texas. They could have the Grand Canyon at the North West of the map (similar to FH4 map setup), the mountains around Santa Fe at the North East (similar to FH4's Edinburgh) and a wide mix of map in between - open spaces and landmarks like Meteor Crater.

I know it's too early to discuss a potential FH7, but if anything, it should be set in Hong Kong.

Mostly for Playground to give their own take on the location of TDU Solar Crown.

They switch continents with each successive game.

I have given it a bit more thought...again, according to logic until now, it needs to be in Europe/Africa, they did Asia now, and America before that, so it's time to go there again.

But now...two important things to consider, map needs to be visually appealing, great roads, breathtaking views, lots of verticality, and a place with car culture, to make sense of new cars to add (except poor Mexico, they only got the Tsuru...)

So...my bet would be Switzerland. Checks all the boxes related to the map (it's also a small country compared to the ones they have done so far, so no need to alter it too much), regarding car culture, they are about to finally lift their ban on motor racing in real life next month (which is very convenient since a Horizon festival could now take place lol), and despite mostly focusing on tuners and custom builders like Sbarro or Rinspeed (besides being home to Sauber too) hey, they are surrounded by Germany, France and Italy...plenty of neighbouring cars to visit from.

Although this thread is nothing more than predicting the future of Forza Horizon billions of years before it's even relevant because we have nothing better to do with our lives, I shall make my guess:

North America :D

Instead of having pachinko noises playing over the top, they could replace the wheelspin with a Genting casino roulette wheel. With all the unlucky gamblers who are supposed to have thrown themselves off the cliff those Rivals ghosts really would be ghosts. 👻

We're not likely to go back to South East Asia any time soon though.

As much as I'd like a multinational European location, I'd bet they'll play it safe and return to the USA.

My guess is Germany.
VXR
I'd definitely be up for their take on that west coast, especially as it'll almost certainly be on the next gen and they could incorporate the different vibes of a San Diego, San Francisco and Portland city across a larger map. Very diverse area if they were to include the desert, too.
That could be interesting. West Coast US would be a prime location to hold the Horizon Festival, especially if they could incorporate those vibes that those cities have. Would be sweet if they could somehow squeeze Seattle in there too, but wouldn't be the end of the world if they didn't.

They could also do some sort of throwback for Fast & Furious like they did with Initial D for Japan.

I've stated this before, but IMO it's time to break out of this pattern of make believe countries/regions that just superficially touch on the culture and features of the location (to avoid litigation and controversy, mostly), and embrace the fact that Forza Horizon occurs in a virtual and consequence-free environment.

What I mean is that the next game should be a big hub world that can connect to any number regions with its own geographical/cultural/road and car culture features: You want a Scandinavian map, done. You want the Saharan desert for some Dakkar action, done. A map of San Francisco? done, and so on. And this model could change over time instead of launching a new game every so 3-5 years.

If you look at car culture my bet would be Germany.

I wouldn't rule out China.

Going back to the US would be my favourite like others have said California makes sense.

Canada! Could bring back Bob and Doug McKenzie,
"Hey, Hosers, welcome to the Great White North, eh. We got beer and poutine and jelly doughnuts for ya."
"No way, eh, we're giving them the jelly doughnuts?"
"Yeah, ya Hoser, it's called being a good host."
"No way, eh, they'll be like wrecking all the fences and maple syrup houses and stuff."
"Don't mind my brother, you're just going out for a rip, eh? Oh, we got a special station for ya, Rush FM. All Rush, all the time."
"Beauty, eh! It's our way of saying, 'Sorry about Nickelback,'"
"Don't remind 'em of that Gong Show, eh."
"Anyway, beauty, eh. Have fun tearing up the place, I guess. We'll be hanging out at the Moosehead Brewery."
"Cu cu coo cu oo cuh cu!"

Canada has summers, right? The louder sections of the fanbase would probably look like this after the announcement:

We do have Summers where temperatures can range between 30C-40C. With humidity, the worst kind of heat... -_-

You might want to take a gander at the temperatures out West while you're at it. It gets really hot over there. Matter of fact, Canada had a brutal one in 2021.

My sister-in-law and late brother moved from Vancouver to BC some years ago. Their house is across the lake from a huge forest and said the air was thick with smoke from the forest fires caused by the heat dome. The world is getting hotter.

49.6C was the highest temperature on record. Lytton, BC. The same year the area was engulfed in a wildfire, burning down much of the village. Over 1000 residents living in the area had to evacuated, two people died.

The wildfires up here are getting crazy, and it's not just the West.

South Africa would be my choice.

Cape Town would be a perfect city, modern CBD, large shipping dock area, stunning waterfront areas, and incredible mountain roads on the city edge.

Incredible coastal mountain roads similar to FH2. Winding roads through the wine regions up into the Cape Mountains with touge style mountain passes.

Over on the other side of the mountain passes I'd have the huge Karoo for an expansive safari style area, perfect for Baja style events.

Africa now is really only untouched continent for the game, SA would be more than perfect for it.

Not a Finnish person, but I want FH7 to be set in Finland. If that isn't really an option, then I prefer my hometown. Malaysia.

Maybe the Malaysian carmakers would finally get their first appearances in Forza, even though majority of the Protons are Mitsubishis/Geelies and Peroduas are Daihatsus.
