If I don't want to put any miles on cars like the Bentley Speed 8 (has pristine 0 miles thanks to 1000 Ticket jackpot), even though I will never be able to trade them?

It's all up to you. When I have a Zero mile standard car, I try to keep it in mint condition when driving around a track.

I say you drive it, it's a really good car I hear.

Just use it online or just use it anyway. I was like that with exact same car.

I know it must sound like a dumb question, but driving online doesn't put miles on a car's odometer?

I don't think it does nor damage.

What's the fun in owning that car if you're not going to drive it? That's like having a hot girlfriend but refusing to have sex with her. That doesn't sound like a good deal. :dunce:

Lol good one.

LMFAO, When put like that, I'm going to have to take my harem on the road!

I'm the same way but started collecting 0 mile cars too. I have a C5R that I haven't touched yet but waiting to find one in UCD to abuse. I do enjoy driving my cars and my main account is dedicated to cars that drive or plan to drive in the future. I setup a trade account just to have 0 milers in.

It does. I have a car that had 50 miles on it, I did one online race and quit, looked at the car offline and it now had 63 miles.

Oh I thought it didn't. Ill have to check.

Just in case someone hasn't pointed this out already, you do realize this is not a real car? This is a video game? Your "car" is a collection of bits and bytes, not sheet metal and carbon fibre...you know this right? You know it could have 1 trillion miles on it and the digital image of the car will be the same right?

Just checking...

Oh darn it, you ruined my delusions of grandeur (thinking that I REALLY have 500 real cars sitting in my garage):grumpy:

Just liking this game... or well any video game... is probably a sign of some kind of obsessive personality trait or something. haha! ;)
But I don't think it's any worse than a lot of non-productive hobbies. Like collections of useless things you hear about people collecting - at least gt5 cars don't take up real-life storage space.

But as for keeping something with 0 miles for the sake of it... I don't see the point. It's not like you could totally destroy a car & be crying like Eric Bana or whatever his name is. I think you could put a LOT of miles on a car in gt5 (could take you a long time), before it actually degrades past a point where it can be restored to previous condition.

Well, I thank all of you for your opinions, both serious and joking (sometimes quite hard to tell the difference), and I have concluded that having virtual cars sitting in my virtual garage for the sake of keeping them mileage-free is not as desirable or fun as using these virtual cars for actual virtual (pardon the oxymoron) driving.💡

Online racing puts miles on the clock, with the exception of 'free run' lobbies. If the race hasnt started and you are just running around 'warming up' then no miles are being clocked up. Engine run in also occurs during racing, take a new car online to the max pp limit, race for ten laps or so and then you can find you have exceeded the pp limit for the next race as the engine has gained a few horses.
