Going to Canada and coming back 3 days later? I have a race in Chilliwack (60 miles east of vancouver) and I'm flying there, do i need a passport or anything?

I think no matter what, you need a passport to go in/out of a country. Especially the Canada/US border which is alot tighter on checking now. I'd bring your passport with you just in case.

In the Myriad trips I've taken to Canada, I've never needed a passport. My drivers license, and the fact that I speak english and absolutely zero French has been fine.

I'd certainly make sure that you have some form of photo identification on hand though.

I've been to Canada twice since Christmas. Both times my worn out Massachusetts learner's permit has been enough to get across the border into ugly Canada.

Montreal sucks so much I can't even describe it. And the highway system in Canada is just ****ed. On my most recent trip to New Brunswick, to get to the bed and breakfast we were staying at, we had to pull off the highway (going 70 MPH) into an intersecting dirt road.

Have fun! 👍

If you look like you're from the Middle East you do.

If you are flying then I think it might be a good idea to bring it along. Just to be sure, why don't you call someone who might know? Perhaps the airline.

That's a really ****ed up thing to say, man, that was not a nice thing to say, to anybody from the Middle East on the forum. 👎 I'm not from the Middle East but still, that's a racist comment. 👎

Yes, but you know that I know, and I know that you know...that they are very obviously looking for people from the Middle East that don't speak Yiddish too well.

Yeah, a birth certificate will do. I believe they ask for a license from the driver and anyone over 18 and a birth certificate from children.

I don't think they're really concerned with terrorists escaping past the Canadian border and stealing hockey pucks.

If they don't let you in, you can just walk around the border patrol. It really isn't a problem.
