Do I put a wing on my cars

Do. There really isn't a downside to downforce.
Plus, if the car in question is an LP-700 you would be putting a wing on your wing, for 4X the downforce!

Apart that most cars get a lot uglier. :yuck:

And normally more downforce would mean that you sacrifice some top speed.
But I don't think this is the case in GT5

:scared: You scare me... Your message looks like coming directly from a PC...

It is, but not very much.
Your lap times will improve if you use it right. And whether the cars look uglier is a matter of opinion. Yes, a March with a spoiler just looks like a ricer, but I think that the Enzo's spoiler makes it look better. But always #1 for premiums and #3 for standards.

Its been my experience that if you put a wing on a car that has no adjustable front downforce, you'll end up with a car that understeers. You will then have to compensate for that in another area of the tune which is not a good thing. If I do add a wing, I keep the adjustments at 50% or below. Sometimes it depends on the weight distribution of the car also.

On SSRX yeah, but on any other track you times will suffer.

Really depends on the car.

If a car already understeers like it's its job, (Supra RZ) then yeah a wing will exasperate that. However, overall, it will still corner better and post better times than a Supra without one

This also largely depends on the track too.

I had the same problem today eating a scone.

Do I add squirty cream or not?

sqrtycrm.dll is available now, if you want it.
And to OP, wng.dll is only 2,000Cr. for all it's purposes!

Why do all your posts include the .dll (dynamic link libraries) and .exe (executable) suffixes?

Unless you're on a track with very little to no cornering involved, a wing will always make sense.

I ask a simple question and you have to be a smartass...go figure.

I use as a general rule that 550pp and over I might need a wing. But 550pp or under I think it's just not needed.

The annoying thing is when you have a car that does good at 450 and 600. For instance the 2010 camaro. I can leave it fully modded and run 585pp races and I would like a wing, then if it's a 500pp room I'd like the camaro dialed back with no wing.

Therefore I have 2 of most cars. One with Wing and one without.

Very stupid I need two cars to do this, just make the wing a checkmark in your settings sheet.. (but that would mess up thumbnails) or make the wing adjustable from 0-20 instead of 5-20.

The rear downforce produced from the rear wing has a much greater effect when running an endurance race with tire wear.

This.

Unless your GT (or any car for that matter) is hard to keep speed in, through, and out of the corners on Route X, a wing really isn't necessary. On an actual track with many corners (ie: Nurburgring, Top Gear Test Track, Suzuka, etc.), a wing is recommended if you want to keep the car on the track and/or set fast times. Rule of thumb for me is: if it's a car for racing, stick a wing on it (unless it's ugly). If it's for top speed/Route X/drag, don't even think of putting a wing on it.
